00:00Miami heat.
00:01They are in the midst of a training camp, seeing some photos from people,
00:05boots on the ground, like Ira Winderman and Anthony Chang and Ethan Skolnick of,
00:09uh, it's, uh, it's a photo of, uh, Eric Spolstra and Jimmy buckets post a practice.
00:19I'll put this up here for our viewing audience.
00:22Um, they are, it looks like a chopping it up after a little workout.
00:27Member spoke, told us, uh, in the interview that Jimmy needs me and I need him.
00:34So, uh, having a little post, uh, post-practice conversation there,
00:40chopping it up and, um, it's going to be interesting.
00:44It's going to be interesting to see, but this was, I think an interesting thing
00:47to, uh, bam yesterday, Leroy, he referred to Eric Spolstra challenging
00:53Kalel wear as hazing Kalel wear.
00:57And I, I don't think I've ever heard of a coach hazing a rookie.
01:01It's usually player on player that's referred to as hazing, but, uh, this
01:05was bam on Spoh and telling Kalel, he's got to get ready for the Spoh rookie
01:11treatment for me is just telling him to be patient, you know, take his time.
01:15Cause in training camp, it's a lot, it's a lot going on.
01:18It's a lot of moving parts.
01:20So, you know, I just started telling him, you know, just figure it out.
01:24As you go, I spoke on yell at you.
01:26It's guaranteed.
01:27You're the rook.
01:28I mean, he, you're going to get rookie hazed.
01:30It is what it is, but you got to take that with a grain of salt
01:33and really get the message.
01:34Uh, and he's been coming back every day, better and better.
01:37Wow.
01:38Wow.
01:39Intense.
01:40Yeah.
01:41He's not like, Oh, the food is good.
01:44Scoop
01:51does he, uh, can you give a bam?
01:52He gave some examples of how Spoh is going to challenge Kalel as a rook.
01:57Here's a, some more of bam out of us speaking to the media yesterday.
02:00Yeah.
02:00Spo didn't play me.
02:01I still stand on that.
02:03Uh, but just, you know, we'll be talking like today.
02:08He was like, how many shots have got, how many, uh, how much time is on the
02:11shot clock when you, when you take it out of bounds on the side of the bounce?
02:16It's like, obviously he looks straight at kale.
02:19Okay.
02:19It was like, depends, like 24, 14.
02:24And it's just those type of mental games he plays.
02:27Uh, but it's also just preparing them for when we do get in live action
02:31and you've got to make adjustments.
02:33You got to go out there and score and 14 seconds on the side is just
02:36preparing them for those moments.
02:38Yeah.
02:39Sposa out here, given the wonder lick
02:40Oh, yeah.
02:43A bar exam.
02:46That is, I didn't even think about that, dude.
02:48Like, of course, those are small things that you need to know, but when you
02:51think of like extensive studying, you think of the NFL, you think of like a
02:55playbook that's 50 pages long formations, play calls, but those small things in
03:01basketball, if you know those, that's what separates a good teams from, you
03:04know, like a Jr Smith moment or something like that, something that you see the
03:08bad teams do, I think, I think a lot of times they'll ask you questions about
03:14things, you know, but you never really have to like actually know them.
03:24Right.
03:25Like Kalel.
03:26He, what if he's never taken a ball out about it?
03:30So is this stuff like that?
03:31Stuff like that, that spoke gets them ready for, gets them ready for all parts
03:36of basketball, even though you may not be a part of it.
03:40Yeah.
03:40Spode does love that throw and lob play though.
03:42Oh, he's like, Hey, you better, you better be a paid attention.
03:46Get those hands ready.
03:49Stunt.
03:49Steve says Spode definitely doesn't think he hazes the rookies.
03:52He's very tough on the big men, like especially the big men.
03:56Like he, and Louie says that they don't accept a soft big man.
03:59I agree.
04:00They don't like it's partly why we talked about this with Nico, right?
04:05Like he had to earn that Spode trust and he's harder.
04:09He was, I think, harder on a Nicola Jovich than he was on a Tyler hero.
04:14Tyler hero came in like a flamethrower throwing buckets off the bench.
04:18No doubt, but you know, also had his defensive lapses that felt like it
04:22got a little bit more excused, maybe so than the big man does.
04:27So it's an interesting, and I wonder with Kalel, I'm, I'm kind of hopeful.
04:31And I think you are too, Leroy, because you want the more size on the floor, right?
04:35Is that I hope there's a little bit more of a leash for him, you know?
04:41Like I hope that I don't think they have a throw.
04:44I don't think they have a choice though.
04:47That's the thing.
04:48I really don't think they have a choice because I don't want to, I don't
04:51want to start this season respectfully, respectfully, I don't want to start
04:54this season and, and we're, we're giving the backup center minutes to Kevin.
04:58Um, you know, if we're going to do that again, again, first of all, he's old.
05:05All right.
05:05We gotta, we gotta monitor K loves minutes.
05:07Toward the end of that season.
05:09Kevin loves efficiency was through the roof.
05:11He was playing seven minutes of putting up 12 points.
05:13He can give you the greatest seven minutes of all time, but also it's a long season.
05:18Yep.
05:19You gotta wind them up.
05:21And, and, and he, he's one bad step away from a hammy cause he's old.
05:29He always feels like he's holding his back.
05:35I don't hold my back.
05:36I can't reach it.
