00:00Well, the wait is finally over for the hundreds of people who spent a very sleepless night
00:07in 5 degree weather camped outside here at the Royal Australian Mint, hoping to secure
00:12a new prized possession.
00:14Some drove more than 13 hours just to be here and secure their spot in line, bringing along
00:20the essentials like sleeping bags and blankets and having to turn to Facebook Marketplace
00:25when they forgot some.
00:26We left the blanket at home and we had to buy one off Marketplace to keep the missus
00:30happy so we ended up paying an extra $20 to get it delivered.
00:34We came all the way from Queensland, so a 13 hour drive.
00:38Up for grabs, a 50 cent piece celebrating the ABC's hit music television show Countdown
00:44and two $2 coins commemorating animals that have served in war.
00:49But the main star of the show was the silver proof $2 coin, setting collectors back a pretty
00:54penny at $85 a piece.
00:57It's purple this time and it's got the war animals on it as well so I like that each
01:01$2 remembrance coin that they bring out is a different theme, different colour.
01:05It's not just the colourful designs that appeal to the collectors here, many are anticipating
01:10they'll appreciate over time and are already seeking to have them valued before they hit
01:14the reselling sites.
