00:00You know we got a couple couple guys on the squad over there that we've had over
00:04here in Buffalo, obviously Tim, Steph, Jerry Hughes, Case Keenum, so guys I
00:11spent a lot of time with and guys I still care about.
00:16For Diggs in particular, what's it going to be like just going up against him?
00:19Obviously going to be different but you know at the same time on the offensive side of the
00:24ball you know we don't worry about what they're doing on their side of the ball
00:27so we just got to focus on what we got to do and put together a strong week
00:31focus on what their defense is doing they got a really good defense got some
00:34guys that can get after it so yeah got to have a good week and take the right
00:40step forward.
00:45Oh no no that's not unusual for any other teammates you know so yeah.
00:55I mean if they were to come and ask I can give as much as I can but at the
01:09same time it's he's in a different scheme and you know those defensive guys
01:13are focusing on their their offense as a whole and they got some really good
01:16players on that side so it's not just a one one guy show over there they got
01:20some some real dudes over there on their offensive side of the ball so again on
01:24our side we got to make sure we're holding on to the football and scoring
01:26when we have opportunities.
01:36I think for us it has been you know we're just trying to focus on what we
01:41can do in this building and the guys that are here that's just how it is
01:45every single year we understand the NFL is a business and there's decisions made
01:49all the time about things and things of these natures so we're just trying to
01:54control what we can control right now.
01:57Speak him out on Sunday try to have an interaction pregame?
01:59Hopefully yeah I'll say what's up and hopefully it's the favors return I'm
02:03sure it will be so we'll see.
02:06It's been going on for what six months but you kind of get why this is a big deal around the league for people who are too high profile players and now he's on another team right in that sense?
02:18At the same time I'm sitting here it's like it's not the most unusual thing I think this thing
02:21happens from time to time and you know I got a lot of love for him I still do
02:26the things that he did for me in my career and in the things that he did in
02:29the Buffalo Bill uniform won't be forgotten anytime soon especially from
02:34me so that's that's how I look at it at the same time you know going into year
02:39seven I understand the business and the aspect of what this league is and again
02:43I'm just trying to focus on what we got going in this building.
02:47Celebrating the mentality on offense here is not a shot and step up game. Why did you feel compelled to bring that up last week?
02:55Well I think people were making a bigger deal out of it than it was and again I'm
03:02a I'm a loving guy I'm a loving teammate I like to love on my guys and prop them
03:07up however I can and I'm not doing that at the detriment of somebody else
03:11whether that's him or anybody else that's put on a Bill's uniform or
03:15anybody that's coached in in our coaching booth so I'm just trying to
03:20again be a leader that I am and be as authentic as myself to it to me as I
03:25can be and just lead these guys that are in this locker room.
03:28What do you make out of the Texans defense? You mentioned them a little in some of these answers, which is what really stands out to you about the extra group?
03:35Yeah I mean I think they got a couple of ends that are are really fast they do a
03:38good job of getting to the quarterback in the back end obviously everyone knows
03:42the corner they got in Derek Stingley great young player who seemingly makes
03:47plays on the ball week in and week out so gotta make sure we're aware of what
03:51we're doing and again stick into the game plan of what we got and I you know
03:55trust Joe and the offensive staff to put together something good and it's our job
03:59to go out there and execute it.
04:02When you were looking back at the tape from the Ravens game, was it the lack of success consistent in the offensive game?
04:07Was it more of what they were doing or do you feel like it was more self-improvement?
04:11I think a lot of it was self-inflicted you know they came out that like like I
04:14said had a great plan had a great rush plan they got to me a couple times and
04:18there's a few times that I probably could have gotten the ball out of my
04:21hands a little bit quicker and thrown the ball away but at the same time
04:25making sure that we're committing to what we got going on on the offensive
04:29side of the ball trusting what coach Brady's calling is a as you know going
04:32out there and executing so we look forward to doing that this week.
04:41Prolific I guess, for lack of a better word, is maybe some of us thought it would be.
04:46I fully understand that you're going to spread the ball around and it's going to go to the open guy,
04:51but when you have a guy that's talented like that and can be a playmaker,
04:55do you feel like the offense needs to do a little bit more to try to get the ball in his hands right now?
05:00I mean yeah at the same time we want to get everybody more touches and just
05:04based on what we've kind of had in the previous four games obviously not a
05:09whole lot of opportunity we've missed on a couple of big plays especially to
05:13him so we'd love to get him going and you know whether or not Khalil is in or
05:19out this week not really sure what the status is he'll have an increased role
05:22no matter what so we're gonna be calling on his number and he's gonna have to
05:25step up make some plays which we've got no doubt in his ability and in the way
05:29that he plays the game of football he's such a great teammate and yeah it's no
05:35doubt that we we need to get him going.
05:38On not knowing the status with Khalil and Khaon, I went back and looked and you haven't played a lot of games with Khalil out there,
05:46what would that be like how concerned are you if he's not able to go?
05:49Yeah if he can't go it's obviously a big blow to us he's a it's been such a
05:52fantastic player here it's my blind side love that guy and hopefully he can get
05:59everything right and get ready for for game day so I'm trying not to think of
06:03it as he's not going you know I got a lot of faith in him and you know he's
06:06uh he's got a lot of love and you know he's got to be really hurt to not play
06:09so I guess we'll find out soon.
06:14Where are you at? You know Sean said you were pretty sore from that game on Sunday. Where are you at right now?
06:18Good to go.
06:20Joe Brady is pretty hard on himself and we talked to him Monday about just kind of how he called the game, the trick play in particular.
06:27When he has a game like that where he's really trying to bounce back and put so
06:32much on himself do you say anything to him or is he any different the next week leading into the upcoming game?
06:37No I mean at the same time he's feeling that way I'm also feeling that way about
06:40myself and whatever he calls I got to go out there and execute it and you know I
06:44didn't do that at a high level and we didn't do that at a high level during
06:48the game last this last week so I know he's taking accountability and trying to
06:52take the blame but it you know it takes everybody when we're out in the field
06:55and you know especially me being an extension of what he's calling so again
07:01just trusting in what his game plan is you know him trusting me me trusting him
07:06that's never gonna waver and you know that's how we're gonna attack this thing.
07:12Last game you said there were some good things mixed in. I know we asked you about playing a key on when you didn't connect on at the end of the first half.
07:19But are those back shoulder connections is that something that his skill set allows you to kind of take advantage of?
07:24Yeah again the body control that he has I've said this time and time again he
07:30does a great job fighting for the ball when it's in the air we had to again
07:34start attacking a little bit more downfield I think with him if guys are
07:37gonna want to sit and take some opportunities downfield and you know
07:40he's gonna have to go make some plays for us like he did this last game in the second half.
07:44Would you be playing stuff this week, Jax or former teammates, Cole or DeCeon or anybody like that?
07:50No, I wish. I miss those guys though.
