00:00So now the Braves, after expending all that energy in a must-win game number two, basically
00:08went with a bullpen and it didn't go well at all, to say the least.
00:12Smith-Shawver comes in, one and a third innings pitch-dubsy, four hits, three earned runs,
00:17and right away you were behind the eight ball because Michael King was spectacular on the
00:22mound yesterday.
00:23The game ends for nothing.
00:24King is absolutely dominant.
00:26The Braves are up against the dubs, and they don't even have their ace.
00:30Now Max Fried, we'll handicap this a little bit later in the show, is a quality pitcher.
00:33But boy, not having sale, and you're already down 0-1, that's a devastating blow to the
00:38Braves.
00:39Playing catch-up from the jump, and you're going against a team that's well-rested, playing
00:43some really good baseball in their park down there at Petco.
00:47So I guess this result, a little expected on Tuesday afternoon, 4-0, but it throws everything
00:53out, Donnie.
00:54I guess that's going to be the beauty of handicapping going through October, knowing what resources
00:59are on deck, if you will, the starting arms, who can step up and get it done.
01:03And when you have to miss a day like that, it suddenly throws out the whole rotation.
01:07So not good on that side of things for the Braves, but it's turned into a must-win spot,
01:11so they need to find something ahead of game two.
01:14But for all Chris Sale, I'll tell you what, they needed that split there on Monday, so
01:18you can't really be mad at that decision, but it's now come back to bottom.
01:24It's now come back to bottom.
