00:00hello and welcome to Manchester world I'm Theo Houston Betts and today is the
00:04sampling staples episode and what that means is we're going to go to a place in
00:06Manchester that's very well known for a specific thing, we're going to try it and we're
00:09going to let you know what we think so today we're on our way to Idlehands coffee to
00:13try out their brunch. So Idlehands is one of the most popular brunch spots here in
00:18Manchester it first set up as a pop-up shop back in 2015 before settling on a
00:23permanent residence in the northern quarter a year later they're located at
00:2735 Dale Street so just a little bit of a walk away from Piccadilly Gardens. So
00:31we're in Idlehands now it is lovely in here it's really really nice and the
00:35brunch menu is an all-day brunch situation and it's got some great
00:39options on there, I've gone for Turkish eggs because I love some Turkish eggs. Now we'll
00:42come back to the menu which does have an awesome range of options but the shop
00:46itself has a great range of different things that it can sort of turn its hand
00:49to it does really great sort of natural wines and craft beer both to drink in
00:55and take away as well as a great focus on the quality of the coffee and the
00:58quality of the cakes that you might have just seen there that they're putting out
01:01and it's got a really really nice vibe inside. As for the food menu they've got
01:05a really great all-day brunch menu which is top top top top notch from overnight
01:09oats to avocado and toast, cowboy beans, homemade hash browns which look
01:13absolutely to die for, full English breakfasts all topped off with great
01:18coffee as well. As I said I went for the Turkish eggs because I've tried them once
01:24before from somewhere else and they were pretty good but these absolutely blew my
01:28socks off. Essentially if you're not aware what Turkish eggs are it's a couple
01:32of poached eggs in this Greek yogurt that's flavoured with garlic, chili oil on
01:36top, all served with crusty bread and as a meal it was just unbelievable. So I've
01:42just finished here and it is exactly as good as I've heard. It's one of those
01:47places where we've got tons of great brunch spots in Manchester from Federal
01:51to Ezra and Gill and now absolutely here as well. The eggs are great, the coffee's
01:56top-notch and it's a really friendly vibe in here too, so I can't recommend it enough.
