00:00The Department of Social Welfare and Development promised assistance to our countrymen affected by the typhoon,
00:06particularly in Batanes.
00:08In fact, almost a million pesos of humanitarian assistance has already been distributed.
00:14Ryan Leziga reports.
00:20The DSWD is now focusing on the families affected by the typhoon, particularly in Batanes.
00:26This includes providing enough family food packs and other necessities for those affected by the typhoon.
00:32Once the weather improves, we will send these food packs to those affected.
00:40We are also waiting for a road signal to send this assistance.
00:49The DSWD is currently coordinating with the Office of Civil Defense
00:55so that we can access the assets of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, air and naval assets.
01:02The National Resource Operations Center in Pasay, Pagsasayos, and Augmentation will continue to distribute the assistance to areas affected by the typhoon.
01:10We are using a whole of government approach to ensure that the assistance we need
01:17can be distributed to our affected countrymen.
01:21Currently, almost a million pesos of humanitarian assistance is being distributed.
01:27Aside from the family food packs, the DSWD can also provide assistance through AICS,
01:33or the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation.
01:37According to the latest NDRRMC data, more than 22,000 families are affected by the typhoon,
01:44which is equivalent to more than 77,000 individuals.
01:47From more than 200 barangays from Region 1 to Atcor,
01:52President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was the first to send assistance to those affected by the typhoon Julian.
01:57In an ambush interview, the President said that there are family food packs ready to be distributed to the affected residents.
02:05Health care centers are also on alert.
02:08The effects of the typhoon are also being monitored in the livelihood of our countrymen who are farmers and fishermen.
02:15The typhoon has particularly affected the provinces in the north of Luzon.
