00:00163 million euros of value generated for the territory in 2023, 39.5 million euros invested in local infrastructure and maintenance of the plants, 64 thousand tons of CO2 avoided, 2400 students and teachers involved in environmental education projects.
00:24These are just some of the results illustrated by the Life Company A2A during the presentation of the 9th Territorial Sustainability Balance of Bergamo. These data contribute to the acceleration of the decarbonization of the city, among the European centers, to have joined the Climate City Contract.
00:40Today, the major themes on which to work in the cities are mobility, on which there is clearly the issue of sustainable mobility, therefore public transport, which we do not deal with, but then there is the issue of private mobility, on which electrification passes through charging infrastructures.
00:57And then, finally, the issue of building air conditioning, on which the development of heating and network electrification with heat pumps are the two main drivers for decarbonizing the city. Therefore, A2A is an essential partner of the Climate City Contract project and we hope that Bergamo can make a good impression in this European context.
01:21Bergamo, named the Italian Capital of Culture in 2023, was also involved in the realization of the Light is Life initiative, which allowed to raise more than 230,000 euros for the Bank of Energy.
01:35The Bank of Energy, which is a very important initiative that was set up by A2A, but today sees the participation of all major competitors, other Italian foundations and other associations. We intervene and we are currently supporting 200 families in Bergamo, in agreement with the territorial associations that govern the process, knowing the territory.
01:54And this has allowed us to support in times of need, which undoubtedly since 2022 have become more and more important, with the payment of bills that has solved some small problems that these families could have. We continue to go on this path because we believe that on the one hand we must do industry, on the other hand we must also have responsibility for the territory and for the people.
02:16A2A thus confirms itself as a strategic partner for the achievement of the objectives of the transition strategy of Bergamo.
02:21Bergamo has made the strategy, especially with regard to the climate transition, one of the most important objectives, from here to 2030. There are more than 261 actions, 41 entities, a fundamental partner for us and A2A, together with all the actions that are included.
02:42From the implementation of heating, to electrification, to what concerns our public facilities, our buildings. In short, a series of actions that allow us to reach that very ambitious goal and that we cannot miss, of the reduction of 460,000 tons, from here to 2030, of CO2.
