00:04And right now I am standing at the bank of river Tavi.
00:09And this river which flows down the Jammu and divides old Jammu and new developing Jammu
00:18of Jammu and Kashmir.
00:20The sentiments in Jammu has been by and large against the government because for nine years
00:26there has not been an elected government.
00:28The people really want an elected government in Jammu and Kashmir.
00:33And especially the voice of Jammu is to be heard by the new government.
00:38So we are here to get the feel of the people of Jammu.
01:28The business community in Jammu particularly which is represented by
01:58the Chamber of Commerce has been asking for restoration of Darbar move.
03:28The sentiments in Jammu as I said is that the Jammu's voice should be heard and Jammu
03:40should not be ignored in the matters of development, employment and other issues.
03:58Jammu is a blind spot.
04:58There is some sense of disrespect against the government that after abrogation of Article 370
05:06the jobs are going to the people from the other states and other parts of India.
05:14So Jammu is not getting a due representation.
05:29There is no place here.
05:31If someone marries off their son, there is no place there.
05:36So there is a lack of representation.
05:37We are ashamed.
05:39The Kashmiri Pandit is ashamed from all sides.
05:41No government has done our work.
05:44We had a lot of hope from the government, from the BJP.
05:48We were waiting for so many years.
05:49Every person watches the news that it will be said today, it will be said today.
05:54But till now they have not fixed anything for us.
05:57We are so ashamed that there is nothing to say in the BJP government.
06:27The issues in elections are so many because the elections being held in Jammu and Kashmir
06:51after nine years.
06:52There is an issue of security.
06:54There is an issue of targeted militants killing and people want peace in the Jammu region
06:59so that the development is pushed.
08:23The tourists are coming less.
08:25The traders here have a big problem.
08:29Along with that, many other expenses have increased.
08:32Earlier there was no electricity bill, there was no parking, there was no water tax.
08:41Now all these things have been fixed that they have to come, they have to give.
08:47People's earnings have run out.
08:48If we talk about the business here, then the market situation here is not very good.
08:52There are no big factories here, there is no industry.
08:57This whole area depends on tourists.
09:01Tourists will keep coming here and the people here will keep surviving.
09:07The most important thing about the BJP is that there is absolute peace from here to Ghati.
09:13There is no such thing that earlier the atmosphere was bad.
09:18We used to come to Kashmir at night.
09:20If we talk about ourselves, there is a Kashmir hotel here on Residency Road.
09:25So at 9 o'clock at night, Jammu used to be completely quiet.
09:30And if you had to go out to buy something, you had to take off your clothes and leave.
09:36Because there were orders for the shoot.
09:38And today I see that the sale is open from 11 o'clock to 12 o'clock.
09:43The polling on October 1st is going to be a very defining moment.
09:49What role Jammu plays in deciding the next format of the government and who could be
09:55the Chief Minister of the new government.
09:58There are the BJP in the election fray.
10:00The National Conference has a tie-up with the Congress party.
