00:00Full-time here at the GTEC Community Stadium and a 1-1 draw between Brentford and West Ham United.
00:06Both managers, Thomas Frank and Julian Lopetegui, said in their post-match press conferences this afternoon
00:12that they felt that their team deserved to win and that can only mean one thing,
00:15which is that it was a deserved draw and I would say that is about right.
00:19This game lacked quality, I thought, although not in the first minute when Brian and Buemo swept home a lovely volley
00:25after just 37 seconds. It made Brentford the first team in Premier League history to score in the first minute
00:33of three straight league games after they struck in the first minute against Tottenham last weekend
00:38and the weekend before that against Manchester City.
00:40I think that's an incredible stat and one that I'm sure won't ever happen again.
00:45But Brentford weren't able to find the net after that, just as they weren't against Man City or Tottenham.
00:50There was a real lack of quality in the final third from both teams.
00:54West Ham manager Lopetegui is under a little bit of pressure at the moment
00:57and made some interesting calls at half-time, bringing off Mohamed Kudus and Emerson as well at full-back
01:04and changing the formation as Mavropanos and Carlos Soler, the summer signing, came on.
01:10It seemed to work though, with Thomas Socek equalising after 54 minutes and then it was a sort of drab end to the match,
01:16which ended 1-1. I think West Ham will be the more disappointed of the teams, not because they played better,
01:21but because of where they are in the league, they really do need victory next weekend at Ipswich.
01:26Brentford may be a little bit happier.
