The political stability achieved in Malaysia over the past two years should not be misused by political leaders to strengthen their positions but should serve as an opportunity to implement good policies for the people, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He said while officiating at the Madani Rakyat 2024 Sarawakku Sayang Programme in Miri, Sarawak on Saturday (Sept 28).

00:00Today, we are able to complete the people's body in Miri, my beloved Sarawak.
00:11And we are carrying out this agenda in several zones.
00:16The purpose is to introduce the programs implemented by the United Nations and the State Government
00:26that can connect the people directly.
00:29The people can see what steps have been taken.
00:34And I was told by Dato' Sri Fazila, although the target for the people's body, my beloved Sarawak,
00:43is 100,000, but so far it has recorded 70,000 people who have come.
00:48Our country must be ensured to remain safe.
00:57Managing the country, the selection of people, religions, ethnicities and regions is not easy.
01:07But the people must choose.
01:11Do you want to make this a unity that can revive the economy and defend the fate of the people?
01:18Or create a split-politics, a fight and a chaos?
01:25We see many countries today, the patience in the media is not over.
01:31Because of the excessive political arrangement, which we consider to be derived from a pillar,
01:44a pillar to unite the people and defend their fate.
01:50Because of that, we are grateful, I say.
01:54And I have said last year in Kuching, sometimes my friends in Semenanjung must also learn the experience of their friends
02:04in Sabah Sarawak and especially Sarawak, as mentioned earlier.
02:08And I hope we can deliver this news to all the people of Semenanjung.
02:16Sometimes there are still politicians who are a bit desperate, who are a bit weak.
02:24They see the economy is developing, the ringgit can be frozen,
02:29the level of unemployment is decreasing, job opportunities are increasing,
02:35inflation is more controlled,
02:38so their way out is to incite hatred among the people and anxiety due to religious differences.
02:52We must set a good example.
02:54Who says there is no problem? There is.
02:57Who says there is no problem at all among the people or religion or country? There is.
03:04But we can solve that problem by discussing, trusting each other, respecting each other.
03:14Or we can choose to be hostile.
03:18Because of that, sometimes the politics in Semenanjung has reached an unfavorable temperature.
03:25We are grateful, Alhamdulillah.
03:27Because the majority of the people still choose the better path.
03:31Because with that path, we can achieve harmony among the people.
03:39Premier Bang Joe mentioned the RMB inflation.
03:44Yes, there are international and global factors.
03:48But there is another factor, which is investment confidence.
03:53Foreign money comes in.
03:56Malaysian people's foreign money is also brought in.
04:00So strengthen the RMB now.
04:03And we pray to Allah SWT.
04:05Hopefully, we will have the strength as we have experienced before.
04:12In the Sejahtera Community Madani program,
04:17as mentioned earlier,
04:19this is a new program.
04:22We spend a minimum of RM1 billion.
04:27And for each village,
04:29if the village and long house are too small,
04:33a minimum of RM50,000.
04:35If the village is simple,
04:38maybe up to RM70,000 and a maximum of RM100,000.
04:42And it's not us who decide.
04:47People in long houses, villages, or cities,
04:55if they have a meeting, they decide.
04:58If they want to do handicrafts, agriculture, or other projects,
05:04they decide and we help them.
05:07This is the first time a project involves all villages,
05:12villages, and all long houses in our country.
05:16And I hope to get full cooperation from the village and the community.
05:22So that these projects are different from other projects.
05:26Leburaya, Pembonyo, or Tenaga, or Empangan.
05:33Those are all other projects that the government has to think about.
05:36We will give this to the people directly.
05:40And the people decide how they can manage
05:45so that there is community involvement at the grassroots level.
05:49For our children in Sabah, Sarawak, and Semenanjung,
05:53this understanding is necessary
05:55so that there is no tension and misunderstanding.
05:58The issue of misunderstanding is not just a misunderstanding between the community and religion.
06:03Sometimes it's between the country.
06:06That sentiment is there.
06:09I don't want to say everything that has been said.
06:15But in our last meeting,
06:20there was a view on how we can improve.
06:23Some of it we will move.
06:25This is the first time since independence.
06:28Some projects under RM50 million,
06:31we will hand them over to the government to manage.
06:34To speed up.
06:36And some things related to the administration process,
06:44we also ask to be sped up.
