00:00outside the Prospect building which we will be opening to the public tomorrow
00:04for an electronic music concert. Let's go inside to find out what Bristol's new
00:09biggest venue has to offer.
00:11Yeah so we open tomorrow on Saturday and the first show is with
00:16Over Mono, it's an electronic music show. The following week there's a drum and
00:20bass event with D&B All-Stars and quickly after that we've got Floating
00:25Points and Daphne playing. There's a real mix across the whole sort of
00:29electronic spectrum and it'll run all the way through to the beginning of
00:32December and it's open most Saturdays. We're a daytime venue so most of our
00:37events will finish by 10pm, they'll start at about midday so hopefully
00:41there's less impact on the neighbours around us and it means that
00:45everyone can have a good time and get off home safely. So we have, I mean for
00:49this run of shows particularly, this is an electronic music series so we've got
00:55a new stage set up in there, there's a big sound installation, there's
00:58lights, there's lasers, there's video mapping, so there's a whole sort of
01:03big technical setup. I think that it's a really exciting thing for us to
01:07have the capacity, we can fit you know three and a half thousand people in the
01:10main room here which is I think it's a size that Bristol hasn't had for a
01:14little while. We're really trying to create a space that is really versatile
01:18so we can use it for everything from music events to festival setups,
01:22live shows, we've got a really exciting announcement about some circus that's
01:25coming in, there's shows for kids and families so a lot of the work we've been
01:29doing is just you know behind the scenes preparation to make it a really
01:32versatile space. I think in terms of the the building side of things it's been
01:36it's been relatively straightforward, I think the biggest challenge has been
01:39time for us, you know we're trying to achieve a lot in quite a short
01:43period of time so scheduling and that kind of thing is it is difficult but you
01:47know we've been we've been really well supported, we've got an amazing team here
01:50and it's been it's been really enjoyable to work with them and we're
01:53working with a lot of a lot of suppliers from Bristol, people who used
01:56to work at the old prop yard space as well so it's just been great to kind of
02:00like build a team that is delivering great things here. With anything new
02:04when you're delivering something new there's always unknown and I think that's
02:07that's one of the big challenges but I think we really relish that and there's
02:09also opportunity there. I think we're looking forward to bringing the
02:14inside space to life this weekend and then but also the space around us here
02:19this outside courtyard is really versatile and you know I think when we
02:22will hopefully be delivering things like food festivals, events for children
02:26and families that sort of thing as well.
