00:07conspiracy to receive campaign contributions from foreign nationals and commit wire fraud and bribery,

00:18and soliciting and accepting a bribe.

00:24Mayor Adams engaged in a long-running conspiracy in which he solicited and
00:29knowingly accepted illegal campaign contributions from foreign donors and corporations.
00:35According to the AP, the indictment alleges that Adams accepted illicit campaign contributions
00:39and gifts such as free airline tickets from the Turkish government.
00:43In return, he is said to have overruled fire safety concerns for a new Turkish consulate
00:48and avoided acknowledging the Armenian genocide.
00:51Adams was defiant in a press conference Thursday.
