00:00Let's go live at this moment with our Special Envoy at the United Nations General Assembly,
00:05Jorge Gestoso, who is set to interview in a special interview with the Foreign Affairs
00:11of Venezuela, Ivan Gil.
00:13Let's see.
00:14Hi, Gestoso.
00:15Can you hear me?
00:16We have the privilege to have the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic
00:27of Venezuela, Mr. Ivan Gil.
00:30Minister, thank you for being here.
00:34It's an honor being here and talk about what we have done here in the United Nations.
00:38You have done a lot.
00:40And you just came out of a meeting with the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey
00:48Lavrov.
00:50What was relevant about that meeting?
00:52Well, Venezuela and the Russian Federation have extraordinary relations.
00:57We may say that we are building a strategic alliance from long ago, from the era of Chavez
01:06commander.
01:08We have done great agreements and built great projects in the energy, health, transportation
01:15areas, in almost all areas of the economy, and we have built relations.
01:21And with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, we were talking about those aspects, details
01:26of collaborations in matters of finance, politics, and flights, and tourism.
01:33We have a lot of tourism from Russia to Venezuela.
01:37A new and powerful alliance, Russia is a great technological power and industrial power.
01:45It has a great history and oil production capacity that we share this vision with natural
01:54resources.
01:55And we were also analyzing the geopolitical situation with those nations and also in the
02:01world.
02:02Russia submitted to an attempt of attacking its territory from Europe using NATO as a
02:10platform.
02:11We were analyzing the situation, the situation in Palestine, world peace, situation of the
02:15United Nations.
02:18We are partners in the group of the letter of the United Nations, and we were analyzing
02:24an initiative of respecting the agreements of the United Nations, building multilateralism
02:29as the only way to preserve peace and reestablish peace.
02:36It has been an interesting meeting, very deep, and several aspects in bilateral and
02:42multilateral relations.
02:45These same days, the second day of general debates here in the United Nations, your intervention,
02:54which topics are you going to talk about, what's happening in Venezuela?
03:00Briefly, we are going to intervene in the General Assembly.
03:05Venezuela brings a denouncement about the instrumentalization to the United Nations
03:11to attack sovereign countries, how the United Nations has instrumentalized to attack countries
03:17like Venezuela.
03:18Venezuela is a victim of an attack from the United States against its institutions.
03:24The United States is using its territory for building conspirations in Venezuela.
03:33We saw that recently, the denouncement of the Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace,
03:38Dilma Rousseff, how we have captured an official, a military that was active in Venezuela during
03:47the elections and after the elections, directing terrorist operations to murder the President
03:54of the Republic, the Vice President, to attack the Miraflores Palace, to attract infrastructure
04:00bridges, hospitals, and we are going to denounce this in the speech, and also the way in which
04:10the United States has given to this operation of conspiration against institutions, against
04:20Venezuela, that have been defeated us all before.
04:24Let's remember the recent attempt of invasion in May 2020, defeated from the Caribbean Sea,
04:33the Haitian operation, from Colombia, several operations have been attempted and all of
04:38them have been defeated, also this one, and we demand to the United States to agree with
04:43their commitment, the one it signed.
04:47And it committed to raise all the sanctions as a way to normalize relations with our country.
04:53And you're going to denounce NATO, so yes, we are going to denounce NATO, as we have
04:58always done before.
04:59We were talking about that with the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, because NATO
05:05has become the biggest threat for the world peace, not only in Europe, but also in Latin
05:12America.
05:13We are seeing an advancement.
05:15We are seeing governments such as the one of Ecuador and Argentina allowing the installation
05:25of military bases in Latin America, hostile bases that put at risk the peace and security
05:32of the region.
05:33This is a very severe fact we're going to denounce.
05:37You have been strong, even in the future summit where you participated, regarding the
05:42denounce of what you qualify as genocide of Israel in Palestine, defending Palestine.
05:50And let's talk about the position of yours in this speech.
05:55First of all, condemning Israel, the Zionist state that has started for several years a
06:04massacre against the Palestinian people.
06:07From October the 7th, it became a true genocide, 40,000 dead.
06:15We know the figures might be bigger, children, women, innocent men, the bombing of infrastructure
06:24houses, it's madness what is happening, the worst action we have ever experienced since
06:32Adolf Hitler in Germany.
06:34It's the worst that humanity has ever met since the United Nations was constituted.
06:39It was constituted precisely to avoid these kinds of events.
06:43Unfortunately, we're seeing them.
06:45The Prime Minister of Israel, Netanyahu, is out of control, now starting a war operation
06:52in Lebanon.
06:53He is invading Lebanon, practically bombing civilian buildings, killing innocent people.
07:02They started an operation of state terrorism, activating bombs in communication devices.
07:12But in private companies, they intervened in the supply chain to make things explode,
07:18which is a terrorist action that puts humanity at risk.
07:23We all can use a cell phone, a radio, so we are not safe, since Israel has proven that
07:32it is capable of murdering through these devices, so it causes a state of insecurity
07:37in the world.
07:38We're going to denounce that.
07:39That has to do with the Palestinian genocide, and also we need to ask, urge the international
07:46community to mobilize against this, and what the Palestinian people are living is unfair.
07:54We're talking about Sergey Lavrov, you just met with him.
07:58In three weeks, the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, President Nicolás Maduro is invited.
08:06Did you talk about it?
08:07What do you think about BRICS and the future of BRICS in Venezuela?
08:11We see BRICS as hope.
08:14It's a new way of organizing the world, a world based in complementarity, solidarity,
08:19not only in trade aspects or business aspects, but a world based in the only way of getting
08:27out of and develop all together, great powers there, present, China, South Africa, India,
08:35Russia, Brazil, now joined us, Iran, Ethiopia, Egypt.
08:43It's a great love, and Venezuela participates in the former BRICS Plus, in this meeting,
08:50and has participated in all of the meetings.
08:53We have stated our aspiration to become partners of BRICS in the next meeting, and we're working
08:58on that.
08:59We count on the support of Russia.
09:01We will continue to work with BRICS, since beyond an organization, it is a work advantage,
09:09a doctrine that allows to advance in geopolitical relations and development of our countries.
09:16If you have to summarize in a headline your participation, Venezuela's participation in
09:22this General Assembly, what is the result of Venezuela, what Venezuela leaves to the
09:29United Nations?
09:31Venezuela has brought the truth, the truth of Venezuela, and has denounced truths that
09:38are awkward for the world, are able to be manipulated.
09:44Venezuela has morals, has advantage that we don't owe anything to anybody, and we can
09:49denounce, and we have found good reception of the world.
09:54The world has reacted to these difficulties, and we are going to see this mobilization
09:59soon.
10:00Thank you for joining us.
10:02Thank you for your invitation.
10:05We go back after interviewing Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic
10:13of Venezuela, here from the United Nations.
10:18Thank you, Jorge.
10:19We were listening to our Special Envoy, Jorge Gestoso, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs
10:23of Venezuela, Iván Gil, during an important exclusive interview in which the Minister
10:28referred to a recent meeting with the authorities from Russia in the framework of the 79th session
10:34of the United Nations General Assembly.
