00:00A 7-year-old boy who is being held hostage in Caloocan was found dead.

00:06Dehydration was the cause of his death in his death certificate.

00:11This is the story of Bea Pinlac.

00:16The 7-year-old James Abarabar, a new resident of Caloocan, is still full of dreams.

00:22But he was shot early after the boy died because he was held hostage in their house.

00:29When he was dreaming, it wasn't just for himself.

00:32We were all together.

00:33He said, Ma, I want to see it on TV.

00:35But why?

00:37He saw it, but he was already dead.

00:39James and his brother were still sleeping next door

00:43when they were quickly taken out of their mother's house

00:46after noticing the moving corpse at the door.

00:50At that time, James was already suffering from stomach pain.

00:54He said, my stomach hurts, Ma, help me.

00:56I called my husband.

00:59I told him, your son is delirious.

01:03He said his stomach hurts.

01:05He was coughing.

01:06He was vomiting.

01:08I told him, come on son, let's go to the hospital.

01:10A few hours later, James was rushed to the hospital,

01:14but he was declared dead on arrival.

01:16Based on the boy's death certificate,

01:19stomach pain and dehydration was the cause of his death.

01:23It was the last time they noticed that James had a wound on his arm

01:26because he ran away from the crime scene.

01:29James' father was at work at the time,

01:31so he couldn't bring his son back to life.

01:34I cried a lot.

01:36I felt bad because I was far away when he was gone.

01:52I'm really sorry son.

01:55Their neighbor caught and killed the thief near James' house.

02:00It's not yet known what kind and if the thief is related.

02:05This kind of incident is rare in the barangay.

02:08Even so, the barangay will be more strict in order to prevent this from happening again.
