00:00In terms of Liverpool and their contract situation, obviously Trent Alexander-Arnold was the big one to come in and ensure that he was main man.
00:11He's looking fantastic so far under Schlott. What's the latest you can tell us about him and any other players in terms of their contracts?
00:18Because we know, as we spoke before over the summer, there were quite a few of the main players as well where their contracts were maybe running a little thin.
00:26Yeah, it's interesting because Trent Alexander-Arnold spoke after the Bournemouth game and broke silent on his contract situation.
00:35There's been a lot made about him, Van Dijk and Mo Salah. Obviously, Mo Salah spoke after the Man United game saying nobody at the club has spoken to him yet.
00:42Trent Alexander-Arnold, I don't want to say he's playing games, but I think he is saying, from a player's point of view, the right things.
00:52He said, you know, he said, I'll definitely be here this season. But then he said, I want to captain the club in the future.
01:01I want to win trophies. And he's talked about how much he's enjoying working with Arnold Schlott.
01:05So I get the impression he's almost saying to Liverpool, come on, let's start now.
01:11You know, I deserve, you know, a bumper deal. I want to stay here as my boyhood club.
01:18But he's sort of teasing that I've got options here. If I want to start speaking to clubs in January, abroad, and Real Madrid being the one, then I can.
01:28And let's be honest, who wouldn't want to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free?
01:35He's the priority for me. Mo Salah and Van Dijk are a little bit different, seeing as they're 33 and 34 respectively.
01:42Van Dijk's been in periods for him this season. Mo Salah starts the season, you know, far and far will be disappointed he didn't get on the score sheets on Saturday.
01:52But it's interesting that Trent Alexander-Arnold in the mix zone has taken the decision to go over and speak to reporters about that because he can avoid it.
02:05You know, so he's quite clearly wanted to get his point out on this one.
02:10He's quite clearly wants to go over and say, you know what, I need to maybe get my feelings across.
02:14Maybe he's read a couple of things from fans he hasn't liked, you know.
02:18Maybe he thinks he's saying, you know, I need to get my points across here.
02:22But that's the priority. And it's one for Sporting Director Richard Hughes to certainly get to work on.
02:29I think there will be a few games to be played, certainly, if Trent Alexander-Arnold's won.
02:34And Liverpool have got to find a way to overcome that.
02:37Unfortunately for fans, Arne Slott won't be drawn on.
02:42He's very much taking the stance that contract talks remain private.
02:46So there won't be many updates, I don't think, until maybe a deal is actually signed.
