Escape2Make have launched a crowdfunder to raise money for a new community space for young people.

00:00Escape to Make is a charity providing free creative activities for 11 to 18 year olds

00:05from all walks of life in Lancaster and Morecambe.

00:09Over the past five years we've helped around 1,000 young people learn new skills, grow

00:13in self-belief and make new friends.

00:16In 2025 we'll be setting up our first space in Lancaster.

00:20To celebrate this we're launching the E2M Fair with 28 free workshops for young people

00:26led by local artists and an event for the community to see the brilliant work young

00:31people have done and have a go themselves.

00:34As part of E2M's youth board we have been part of designing this project from the start,

00:39making sure this space and the E2M Fair are created by young people for young people.

00:45We really want your support to make this happen which is why we want to tell you some of the

00:50reasons why we think it's really important.

00:54It gives us a chance to showcase our talents and celebrate our individuality.

00:59It gives you the chance to embrace creativity.

01:01This is important as it allows you to be yourself.

01:04It's important because it allows you to boost your confidence in a non-judgmental environment.

01:09It helps you find new passions and open doors you didn't know existed.

01:13It gives you a chance to expand your social circle and meet people you wouldn't normally

01:17meet at school.

01:18It gives us a space to feel safe to explore new interests and meet new people.

01:22It gives a place to be yourself and find your spark.

01:26It's important because it gives you a chance to do something outside of school without

01:30the pressures of being judged on your ability.

01:33We think it's important because we want to change negative stereotypes of young people.

01:38It helps me express myself in art and creativity without any pressure or judgement.

01:43The workshops are free which gives everyone a chance to get involved.

01:47The workshops give everyone a chance to try something new which means they can discover

01:51new interests.

01:52It gives you a place to escape.
