00:00Again, if you guys have any disagreement, or just think that the ranking's awesome,
00:14in the chat, let me know, and we can have some fun discussions off of that.
00:20But yes, pound for pound rankings.
00:22On the men's side, let's start at number 10.
00:25The first couple don't really change.
00:26Alex Volkanovski, no, he does not have a championship anymore, but the only losses
00:31he has are two guys who are in the top five, in the pound for pound.
00:35So you can kind of excuse a few of those, and I still think, talent-wise, he deserves
00:40to be there.
00:41At 9, it is Leon Edwards.
00:44Again, a tough loss.
00:45It's against someone who is a bit above him in the rankings, and he did have two wins
00:50over Kamaru Usman when I had Usman very high in the pound for pound.
00:54So I just, I have to include him in this list.
00:57Our first change comes at number 8, as Marab Davalashvili makes his way into the rankings,
01:02winning a UFC championship, beating someone who we had at 4 previously in the rankings,
01:08with Sean O'Malley.
01:09By the way, O'Malley, out of the rankings entirely.
01:12That was a pretty one-sided loss, and so I felt like I had to really drop him out, given
01:16the level of competition that there are, excuse me, in the pound for pound rankings.
01:21At 7, Bilal Muhammad, the welterweight champion, coming off of a win over Leon Edwards in his
01:28last bout.
01:29At 6, it's Jon Jones.
01:31If we are going all-time, obviously this might be a little bit different, but just due to
01:35inactivity, he has to go down a little bit on the list.
01:39At 5, it is Tom Aspinall.
01:42An unbelievable heavyweight run so far, and just with how aggressively he is knocking
01:47people out, and the fights that he has been able to put on, and the quality of fighters
01:51he has been able to beat, he absolutely is deserving of being in the top 10.
01:55If Sean O'Malley gets knocked out of the top 5, of the top 4, that means a new person
02:00has to go in, and it is Ilya Teporia.
02:03He's beat Volkanovski, that gets you up there.
02:05Now he has a very big fight with Max Holloway coming up, a very, very interesting bout,
02:10and one that I think sets him up to, like, almost a legacy-defining fight, so to speak,
02:16for him.
02:17So he comes in at number 4.
02:18At 3, it is Drikus Duplassie.
02:20Again, he beat Israel Adesanya when Izzy was at the top of these rankings.
02:25He beat Sean Strickland when Strickland made his way into these rankings.
02:28He has been able to control things as a fighter, and I have him at number 3.
02:35At 2, it is Pereira.
02:38Middleweight champ, former middleweight champ, now the champion at 205 pounds.
02:42I want him to go up to heavyweight and have some fights.
02:45If he does that, he rockets to number 1.
02:48But just an unbelievable talent, and someone whose star has been on the rise in this company
02:54for a really long time.
02:55So he comes in at 2, and at number 1, it is Islam Makachev.
02:59I know Dana White said that anyone who has him at number 1 is insane, well, call me insane
03:04then.
03:05Two wins over Volkanovski, who was at number 1 at the time, certainly has to have you there.
03:10He has been dominant in basically every performance that he has had, with the exception of one
03:14against Volk.
03:15I don't see how you don't, with the resume that he has, put him at number 1 in the pound
03:20for pound rankings.
