00:00Um flipping over to the PGA Tour where they're playing the
00:09last event before the President's Cup at the end of
00:11September. The Pro Core Championship out in Napa. A lot
00:14of names to pay attention to over there that are part of
00:17both the American and the international team uh in 2
00:20weeks and so Minwuli card around a four under uh to get
00:25things started uh on the international side of course
00:27he's tied for ninth uh to hit the gala at three under tied
00:31for 22nd. You have Wyndham Clark at two under as well as
00:35Mackenzie Hughes also at two under tied for 38th and then
00:40Corey Connors uh on the wrong side of par uh one over round
00:44that has him tied for ninety-eight. The guy I wanna
00:46key on here Max Homa tied for fifty-thirds. We're recording
00:50this who Carter uh one under round to get things going on
00:52Thursday. Uh Max is a guy that has been arguably the best
00:57American performer the last two times out in Ryder Cups or
01:00President's Cups. In a losing effort in Rome, Max was three
01:04one and one uh crucial singles win on Sunday uh at the the
01:09President's Cup at Quail Hollow in Charlotte. He did not lose a
01:12single match. Did not tie a single match. Four and oh. Uh
01:15and and was you know just uh solid as a rock for the
01:18Americans. So it's a guy that coming into this President Cup
01:21you'd say hey he has to be a lock. There's no chance he he
01:24can't make this team. Well, Max's form the latter half of
01:28the season really for most of the season has been less than
01:31his standards. He'd probably be the first person to tell you
01:33that. Uh and most recently, it's been a struggle off the
01:36tee. Uh looking at the B and W Championship stats, he he was
01:40last in the field in strokes game off the tee and and close
01:44to the top of the field and strokes game approach which
01:47just illustrates what a disparities had between the
01:50rest of his game and just trying to kinda get the ball
01:52in fairway and in place so he can gain strokes and and and
01:55you know be in play in a tournament. So, looking at his
01:58stats after the first round, he's actually positive in
02:00strokes games off the tee which bodes well, bodes well for him
02:02uh as he kinda heads into the rest of the week. Uh lost
02:05strokes approach, lost strokes putting, both something worth
02:09keeping an eye on but I think for me, if you're looking at
02:13Max's game and who you're potentially gonna pair him
02:15with, he paired well with Brian Harmon in Rome, a match play
02:18dog who is just a great player out of Georgia. Uh I'm looking
02:22for guys that are gonna be consistent who are gonna hit
02:25fairways that are gonna be, you know, steady if he's gonna
02:28lose it off the tee and and a better ball format but also an
02:31all shot format. If if Brian Harmon's putting him in play
02:34and he can gain strokes there, that's gonna be a good recipe.
02:37So, look out for Max Homa as you tune into the Pro Court
02:40Championship in Napa this week and looking forward to the
02:42President's Cup uh in 2 weeks.
