00:00The pure, unconditional, great, boundless, endless love of God never fails.
00:08The Bible talks about in Corinthians 13 how love is patient, love is kind, love does not
00:13boast, it's not envious, it's not proud, it's not puffed up, it keeps no record of wrongs.
00:22Love never fails.
00:23Corinthians chapter 13, it's interesting how God uses patience as the first adjective to
00:28describe the word love.
00:29Love is patient.
00:30I've written three children's books, and they're really for adults as well, on the topic of
00:35patience, play with patience, pray for patience, and then one that's just simply called patience.
00:42I wrote them originally for my daughter, but I also saw a benefit in them for myself because
00:47one of the fruit of the Spirit is patience.
00:51Because we need patience to carry ourselves, conduct ourselves, and walk in the ways of
00:57God and not be judgmental or not be hasty or explosive or temperamental or aggravated
01:05or unkind or annoying to our fellow human beings that we live on this earth with.
01:11But short-sighted, impatient, intolerant religious people who are given to hate, they misrepresent
01:18the loving Heavenly Father God who we love and serve, and they alienate humanity.
01:23Even Jesus said in John chapter 16, verse 1, 2, and 3, people will kill one another
01:27in the name of God and put them out of synagogues or churches and think they're doing God a
01:32service.
01:33Jesus said they kill in the name of God because they do not know God.
01:37Terrorists kill in the name of God who they think their God is, Allah.
01:42But really, when you behave in such a way, you just reveal who you are and who your God
01:48is.
01:49So I guess if you want to serve a mean God, go serve Allah because the terrorists they
01:52kill in the name of Allah.
01:54But if you want a Heavenly Father who loves you and who's kind and forgiving and can love
01:59you unconditionally, then serve Christ Jesus because He prayed to God the Father who is
02:03a God of kindness and forgiveness.
02:05And when He was being crucified on the cross with arms open wide, Jesus said, forgive them,
02:09Father.
02:10They don't know what they're doing.
02:11While He's being spit upon and whipped and beaten and brutalized, yet Christ Jesus, by
02:16the love of God, was able to forgive those who were sinning against Him and abusing Him.
02:25That's a deep, deep kind of love, I must say.
02:28John chapter 3 talks about being born again.
02:32And when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, born of the Holy Spirit, Romans 5 verse 5
02:36goes on to tell us that the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost.
02:42That's an agape, unconditional type of love that can love the unlovely, love those that
02:47are mistreating us, talking trash to us, ridiculing, mocking, using and abusing you.
02:54Love those kind of people.
02:56That's a deep kind of love, my friend.
02:58In the Greek language, you've got three different words for love.
03:01Some say four.
03:02I'll talk about three.
03:03You have eros, which is erotic, sensual type of love.
03:05You have phileo, which is brotherly love.
03:08And then you have agape, which is the God kind of love.
03:10That's the depth and the fullness of God.
03:13When you love people who maybe aren't always deserving of your love, who are unlovely themselves.
03:20So people are more inclined to change when they're welcomed wholeheartedly.
03:24And loved unconditionally rather than judged fiercely or harshly and religiously, put under
03:30your microscope.
03:31So Jesus said, don't judge your brother or judge others because when you look at the
03:35beam, or the speck rather, in their eye, you've got a beam in your own.
03:41So some people say when you point your finger at others, you've got four fingers pointing
03:45right back at yourself.
03:47And if we would judge ourselves by the same standard by which we judge others, we would
03:51see that we're guilty of the same things.
03:53So God help us, forgive us for pride, arrogance, lying, vanities, and mistreating, misusing
03:59and abusing others and speaking down to them or disrespecting them.
04:04Help us to love unconditionally like Jesus and be welcoming.
04:09Jesus said, come unto me all you that labor and are weary, and I'll give you rest.
04:15So Jesus welcomed everybody.
04:17Religion may not welcome everybody.
04:19Sometimes religion will say, well, you have sinned, don't come here.
04:22But Jesus said, the best place to come when you have sin is to me.
04:25So I can heal you.
04:26I am the great physician.
04:28I can forgive and cleanse and heal and renew you and make you whole and transformed.
04:34So whatever your hangup is or your sin is that you think the religious community rejects
04:39and they don't want you or your sexual orientation or whatever it may be, run to God wholeheartedly
04:46anyhow and watch him touch you and transform you and love you and lift you in his loving
04:52arms and make you his son and daughter and make you what he wants you to be in your life
05:01and fulfill your destiny as a child of the loving God.
