Nagpasalamat ang National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts na si Ricky Lee sa lahat ng nakibahagi sa book launch ng kanyang mga nobelang "Kalahating Bahaghari" at "Kabilang Sa Mga Nawawala" na ginanap sa Manila International Book Fair nitong Sabado, Setyembre 14, 2024, sa SMX Convention  Center, MOA Complex, Pasay City.  Ayon sa respetadong manunulat, nobelista, at scriptwriter, nang matapos na niya ang kanyang mga nobela ay nanatili siyang gising at buhay ang isipan kaya't naghanap siya ng iba pang magagawa. 00:00Our National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts, our beloved Sir Ricky Lee!

00:18Oh my, sir!

00:20Okay, sir!

00:21I'll just explain this, because we're getting busy.

00:25This is the fastest I've ever written a novel.

00:31I started last December, and I finished it last month.

00:36Actually, I've been writing my memoirs since I was a kid.

00:39That's why I've seen a few incidents in my diary.

00:43And from what happened to my friends back then, I thought of writing a novel.

00:49That's why I gave birth to this one.

00:51But I'll still bring back my memoirs.

00:54Last night, someone asked me on FDCP, if I'm still active.

01:00I said, I can't possibly not be active.

01:04When I finished my novel, I couldn't sleep.

01:07I couldn't rest.

01:09It's like I suddenly lost my purpose.

01:11I had nothing to do.

01:13That's why I have a lot of projects ahead of me.

01:17I have two films in MMFF.

01:21I have a project with Isabelle.

01:24She's been with me for a long time.

01:27She's been hunting me.

01:29I have a musical called Moral.

01:34With Ryan Cayaba as the musician.

01:41And then, I have a workshop that I'll continue this year before the end of the year.

01:47And a lot of other things.

01:49And I'm doing all of this because of the support of my friends,

01:52like those behind me.

01:54I can't do this alone.

01:56It's very easy to invite them.

01:58Some of them thought it was impossible.

02:01At the last minute, they said it was possible.

02:03And they came.

02:05And they were the only ones who read the script they read.

02:08On the spot.

02:11So, thank you very much to them.

02:13Thank you very much to MIBF.

02:15Because this night was possible.

02:17Thank you very much to everyone who helped us to make this novel.
