00:00Good evening. First of all, congrats and thank you, Sir Ricky.
00:10Even though they're still young, Tonyo is Paul's defender.
00:15To the bullies in class, to a teacher who embarrassed Paul,
00:20even though he's almost a street dog.
00:23They were 13 when they first kissed.
00:27In the bathroom, behind the school.
00:30The kiss was innocent, like it just happened and it wasn't on purpose.
00:35But in college, after a school rally
00:39where many students were lying on the street to protest
00:44against the entry of military vehicles,
00:47when only two of them were left, still lying on the side of the road,
00:52Tonyo came and kissed him.
00:56Since then, Tonyo has defended both of them.
01:01Him and the country.
01:04Not long after, Tonyo dropped out of school.
01:08He became more active in community organizing.
01:11He removed social media.
01:13He was surrounded by noise.
01:15He was surrounded by the underground.
01:17He was surrounded by darkness.
01:19He was surrounded by things Paul didn't know where, what, when.
01:22Until one night, he arrived.
01:26Hug.
01:28Kiss.
01:30Tears.
01:32Tonyo, don't leave yet.
01:35Tonyo, when will you come back?
01:37Tonyo's eyes, every time he comes back,
01:40there are signs of blood,
01:43bruises,
01:45tears,
01:47his eyes grow older.
01:49His eyes get angry.
01:50He wants to hug Tonyo.
01:52It's like he wants to scream.
01:55A battle of strength is raging here.
01:58Every time they kiss,
02:01Paul sees Tonyo's body,
02:03hardened by the life of poverty.
02:06And even harder by the life of the underground.
02:10In the shadow of their naked bodies,
02:13and while the dark hours speak,
02:16Paul hears
02:17the voice of Tonyo,
02:20I love you, Paul.
02:23You are my country,
02:25my family,
02:27my everything.
02:31One night,
02:33Tonyo's soldiers were surrounded.
02:36And that's when Paul's endless search for Tonyo began.
02:41Every night, on that street,
02:42near the trash bin,
02:45and under the lampposts,
02:48next to a wall with graffiti that says,
02:51I'm a coward, do you want to fight me?
02:53While he repeats in his mind what happened.
02:57Night after night,
02:59he can't sleep.
03:01Tonyo's left clothes are being hugged.
03:04The part of his bed that he always lies on is being flashlighted.
03:08In the corner, a flashlight flickers.
03:12It doesn't take long for Tonyo to light up.
03:17He smiles.
03:19He says,
03:21I love you.
03:23You are my country,
03:26my family,
03:29my everything.
03:31He doesn't close his eyes, he just looks at it.
03:35When he closes his eyes,
03:38it might disappear.
03:40Thank you Paul.
