Worst miss EVER? Derby County's Ebou Adams somehow misses an open goal against his former club Cardiff in Championship clash

Derby County's Ebou Adams produced a contender for one of the worst misses ever against his former club Cardiff City.

With Derby leading 1-0 in the closing stages of the Championship clash, Adams appeared almost certain to add to his team's lead.

The midfielder bore down on an open goal after Cardiff goalkeeper Jak Alnwick had come rushing out.

Although he was being tracked by a defender, Adams still had plenty of time to guide the ball into the empty net.

However, to the bewilderment of everyone inside the ground, the 28-year-old failed to do so as he was unable to make a proper connection and somehow ended up sending the ball wide.

Thankfully for Adams, his miss didn't prove costly in terms of the result, with Derby still winning 1-0 courtesy of a goal from Kenzo Goudmijn in the 28th minute.

Adams joined Derby permanently from Cardiff in July, having spent the second half of last season on loan with the Rams.

He had signed for Cardiff in 2022 and played 13 times for the club.

Derby are currently in 8th place in the Championship, with Cardiff bottom after taking just one point from their first five games.
