00:15what are you pursuing?
00:17Who cares if you got trophies on that video game,
00:19or you got 100% synchronization in Assassin's Creed?
00:22Who cares?
00:24Who cares?
00:26What is that an account? How did that change for the world?
00:30You know, who cares how many push-ups you can do?
00:32Who cares?
00:34You have to think more than that, you have to think higher than that.
00:38And when you start doing that, I will tell you one thing Allah will give you.
00:42Allah will give you happiness.
00:44When you really have pursuit, then your life means something.
00:48And when your life means something, it makes you happy.
00:51When you don't have pursuit, then you never find meaning in your life.
00:55And that's why you're never happy.
00:56Doesn't matter how much music you listen to,
00:59or how much hanging out you do, or how much partying you do,
01:02you're just never happy. You're never satisfied.
01:04You're always bored, you're always just, you know, not happy with yourself, etc.
01:09It is this pursuit that you have to internalize.
01:11You, young people, have to be people of incredible, incredible, incredible pursuit.
01:16Allah says, وَأَنَّ سَعْيَهُ سَوْفَ يُرَىٰ
01:18I love this ayah, and I'm ending with this ayah.
01:21And that his effort, his effort, his pursuit, will soon be seen.
01:27His effort will soon be what? Seen.
01:30Let me tell you something.
01:31When you show somebody your resume,
01:34I graduated from this school.
01:37I've worked here, and here, and here. I did this, and this, and this project.
01:40What do you put on your resume?
01:42The results, or the pursuit?
01:44You don't put the pursuit, you put the results.
01:46The result was you graduated.
01:48You don't put, I worked really hard for the final semester, and I was dying to do this exam.
01:52You don't put that on your resume.
01:53You just put, I graduated. Yes or no?
01:55I did this project, this project, and this project.
01:58You don't put on your resume how much effort you made to finish that project.
02:01Isn't it?
02:02And by the way, sometimes you put a lot of effort in, and you don't pass.

02:07You put an incredible amount of effort into a project, and it fails.
02:11Or you don't get the grade that you deserve, or you want it.
02:14You just didn't see the results.
02:17Human beings, we judge each other based on what?

02:22I don't care how much effort you made, you didn't get the results.

02:26I don't care how much effort you made, you didn't pass the test.
02:29You're not graduating.
02:30You understand?
02:31But Allah on Judgment Day is not looking at your report card based on results.

02:39Effort.

02:41Allah says, and his effort, his pursuit, is that which will be shown, or which will be seen.
02:47That is remarkable, because no other human being on the face of this earth can see my effort.
02:53I cannot see your effort, and you cannot see mine.
02:55Only Allah sees effort.
02:58All we see is impact.
03:01All we see are results.
03:03We are people of results.
03:04Allah is a judge of effort.
03:06Subhanallah.
03:08What an incredible master.
03:09Nobody will appreciate your efforts except Allah.
03:11So never underestimate your efforts, because other people underestimate them.
03:16People didn't appreciate the kind of work you put in, and you figure, well I guess it wasn't worth it.
03:20It was to Allah.
03:22It was to Allah.
03:23It was worth it to Allah.
03:25That part of my talk was specifically for the sisters.
03:29Because they do a lot of effort, and they feel like it's not going anywhere.
