00:00In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
00:15I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan.
00:17In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
00:20We praise and glorify His Noble Messenger.
00:24Peace and blessings of Allah be upon you.
00:32The month of Shaban is also a month of great blessings.
00:38The Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said,
00:44Rajab is the month of Allah, Shaban is my month, and Ramadhan is the month of the Ummah.
00:55Today, I will talk about the 15th night of Shaban, which is called Shab-e-Baraaq.
01:09There is a disagreement among the scholars.
01:18Some believe that one should worship, recite the Holy Qur'an, and pray.
01:27Some believe that one should not pray.
01:31However, it is said that the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was not in his bed that night.
01:49The Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was not in his bed that night.
02:00In addition to this, there are some hadiths from the Companions, which mention the night of Shaban.
02:10There are at least ten Companions, and there are hadiths from Tawakkar.
02:23Therefore, there are two things that should be mentioned.
02:28One is that one should pray, worship, recite the Holy Qur'an, and pray.
02:41Secondly, one should go to the graveyard.
02:47But how do we celebrate this night?
02:54This night is the night of forgiveness.
03:00It is the night to repent from sins.
03:03It is the night to shed tears of remorse.
03:08And those tears are very precious.
03:14Hazrat Jibreel said to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, that we do not shed tears of remorse.
03:29The Prophet asked why?
03:33The Prophet replied, because the tears of remorse of one of your Ummah, can make the sea of hell.
03:49The Prophet said, where are they written?
03:54Hazrat Jibreel said, they are in the treasures of Allah.
04:00So, the tears of remorse are very precious.
04:04They are priceless.
04:05They are like prostrations in the way of Allah.
04:10And if it is the night of repentance, then the matter is different.
04:20So, in this night, repentance from sins,
04:24Istighfar, Dhursheed, recitation of the Holy Qur'an,
04:28Nafl, and shedding tears of remorse should be done.
04:38The work that we do is not appropriate.
04:44We are just imitating the Hindus.
04:54The real thing is what I am doing.
04:57For the Muslims, there are only two things.
05:02If they are happy, then they should be thankful.
05:05And if they are sad or worried, then they should read the Qaza-e-Hadith.
05:11This is the work of the Muslims.
05:19So, because we are Muslims, we should celebrate this night in a beautiful way.
05:26And we should read the Nafl in the beauty of the Prophet.
05:34And if we fast the next day, it is a very good thing.
05:44Because the Prophet used to fast three times a day.
05:52On the 13th, 14th and 15th of Shawwal, the Prophet used to fast.
05:59In fact, he fasted on the 13th and 14th of each month.
06:02The Prophet fasted on these three fasts as Nafl.
06:06So, if we fast on the 15th of Shawwal with the intention that I am following the Sunnah of the Prophet,
06:16then the reward for this is even greater.
06:19In fact, the point is that we have to see who said it and who is doing it.
06:26The prostration in front of Allah is not a problem in itself.
06:34In fact, it is because Allah has commanded me to prostrate.
06:38So, the Tauheed is that the prostration should be done in front of Allah.
06:44And the greatness of that prostration is because it is done in front of Allah.
06:50If it is done in front of a Buddha, then it is Shirk.
06:54Prostration is prostration, but if it is done in front of Allah,
07:00then that prostration reaches perfection in relation to Allah.
07:05And in relation to a Buddha, that prostration reaches the state of Shirk.
07:11Therefore, before the Prophet, it was permissible to prostrate in front of Allah.
07:23It is also mentioned in the Qur'an.
07:26But it is not permissible in the presence of the Prophet.
07:30Therefore, it is not about prostration, it is a matter of command.
07:34When he says do it, when he says don't do it, then don't do it.
07:37Therefore, the prostration in front of Allah has a lot of doubts.
07:45And prostration is the only thing that is done in front of Allah.
07:50Everything else is useless.
07:52It is a sin, it is Kufr, it is Shirk.
07:55Therefore, the greatness of that prostration is that it is done in front of Allah.
08:01So, who should be prostrated?
08:03This is the real thing.
08:05Therefore, the prostrations that are done in this night,
08:09the prayers that are recited, the recitation of the Qur'an,
08:13the recitation of Darussi, the Istighfar,
08:16all of these should be done so that Allah forgives us.
08:24So that He forgives our sins.
08:27Then this night is of great importance.
08:30And Allah did a great thing in this night.
08:33Therefore, the requirement of Ishq-e-Mustafa is that
08:39one should obey the Prophet.
08:41The requirement of loving the Prophet is that one should follow his commandments.
08:46It is very important to follow the commandments.
08:51The Prophet's instructions are above everything else.
08:55Therefore, it is a worship to talk to the Prophet.
09:00And it is a great deed to follow the words of the Prophet.
09:05But what is the benefit of not following the words of the Prophet?
09:11The benefit is that one should talk to the Prophet
09:15and one should follow the words of the Prophet.
09:18So, this Shab-e-Baraat is an opportunity
09:24for us to do Istighfar,
09:30for us to prostrate in front of Allah,
09:33and to ask for Allah's forgiveness for this night.
09:38It is not for other things.
09:41One should leave the non-Islamic things.
09:44We are Muslims.
09:46There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
09:50This is why we have come to Islam.
09:54And the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,
09:58is keeping this Seerah in front of him
10:02and is following the footsteps of the Prophet.
10:06The Prophet's instruction is above everything else.
10:09And our instruction is to follow the footsteps of the Prophet.
10:14So, these nights, Shab-e-Meraat, Shab-e-Baraat,
10:18Laylat-ul-Qadr, are nights of worship.
10:21This is an opportunity for us to repent of our sins
10:26and walk on the path of Allah.
10:29These are the nights of the renewal of the covenant of loyalty.
10:32This is why may Allah enable me and you to follow this.
10:39May Allah keep you in His protection.
10:42Assalamu alaikum.
