00:00A contract farming scheme for the country's rice producers in collaboration with the National
00:05Irrigation Administration was unveiled today in Nueva Ecija, where the House Speaker presided
00:11over the grand launching of the BBM Rice Program.

00:23Rodrigo has been a farmer here in Nueva Ecija for 20 years now.
00:28He shared the various challenges have always been part of his livelihood.
00:32Thankfully, the government is always there to support them.
00:36One of the government programs dedicated for farmers like Rodrigo is the Rice Contract
00:41Farming Program, in which the National Irrigation Administration partners with farmers from
00:46production to sell in phase to have a more productive harvest.
00:50Today, as a result of NIA's Rice Contract Farming Program, the Bagong Bayaning Magsasaka
01:07or BBM Rice has been successfully launched nationwide, which coincide with the birthday
01:13of President Ferdinand R. Marquez, Jr.
01:16NIA Administrator Eduardo Guillen led the grand launching ceremony, which was held
01:20in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.
01:23House Speaker Martin Romualdez served as the guest of honor, accompanied by Senior Deputy
01:28Speaker Aurelio Don Gonzalez, Jr. and Appropriations Committee Chair Elizaldi Co.
01:33Compared to regular rice, BBM Rice is priced at only 29 pesos per kilogram, which can be
01:39purchased at NIA regional offices.
