00:00It was tall and its skin was made of flames, pitiless and eternal.
00:07Welcome back everyone it's Charlie this will be my full Lord of the Rings rings of power
00:10season 2 episode 5 video there were a whole bunch of Easter eggs and references they finally
00:15started to craft the nine rings for mortal men.
00:18So will break it all down if you're brand-new to the channel be sure to subscribe to get
00:22all the episodes Amazon also just confirmed that they're developing five seasons of the
00:26show giving you sort of the complete timeline for when the war of the last alliance is going
00:30to go down in that final season that whole prologue from the fellowship of the ring is
00:34probably going to be how they end the show will start to talk more about the actual timeline
00:39of the show season to season after the finale just to have a better idea how the gonna pace
00:44out season 3 season 4 and season 5 but careful for spoilers for episode 5.
00:49If you haven't seen yet would start the beginning work away through shot by shot talk about
00:53Easter eggs WTF moments starting with the episode title halls of stone, which is a reference
00:58to the ring poem for the dwarven's line seven for the dwarf Lords in their halls of stone
01:04because Sauron gives the dwarves their seven rings during this episode seven rings seven
01:12Lords they didn't change any of the actual opening titles like it's the same general
01:16sequence episode to episode, but you also notice that during the intro you see the doors
01:21of Durin because they actually finish making them during this episode Celebrimbor had just
01:26made a field and he made the doors with the help of Narvi there meant to be a sign of
01:30the true partnership between the dwarves in the elves of oregion during this period.
01:35The actual doors themselves were kind of like a backdoor into Khazad-dûm for the elves
01:40of oregion just because they lived right next door they traded with them all the time the
01:44timeline was different in the books the elves use them for a longer period.
01:48And that's why the inscription on the door is written in the elvish language like speak
01:51friend and enter because the elves who all spoke their language were friends like they
01:56literally just spoke the word friend and they entered in the quick way the actual opening
02:01scene starts at Khazad-dûm with Durin the third inspecting the seven dwarven rings he
02:05picks his ring up this is actually the same ring that you see Thrain the second wearing
02:10during the hobbit movies Saron eventually winds up getting back three of the dwarven
02:24rings four of them are eaten by dragons.
02:27We might see some of that go down on this show, but the idea is that this one particular
02:31ring does survive through Durin's line all the way to Thrain the second later in the
02:35timeline we get to see Durin use the power of the ring to help them find the light much
02:40quicker.
02:41The idea is they enhance the natural abilities of anybody who wears a ring of power doesn't
02:45matter which ring you wear some of the rings like the elven rings do have some different
02:49properties to them.
02:50But anybody who puts a ring on gets their natural abilities in hand.
02:54So their power is enhanced.
02:56That's why Durin the third said that they used to be able to hear the mountain.
02:59But now he can literally see all the gemstones in everything around that like every facet
03:04of the mountain itself.
03:06So the ring gives him the ability to see the light through the mountain like see the path
03:10of the light through the mountain, which is why he tells them where to dig and then starts
03:14digging himself.
03:15The other bit about enhancing the power of each wear is that the ring gives him the fortitude
03:20like the actual physical strength to mine till he finds the light were normally his
03:25body would have crumpled like a piece of tissue paper long before this like that's why Durin
03:28the fourth says you need to stop for some air is like forget that we need to find some
03:32light and just keeps going.
03:33Just because he has so much extra juice given to him by the ring one of the other abilities
03:38that the rings gave to the dwarves just because their natural abilities is that it allowed
03:41them to mine more material than they normally would from each of their halls.
03:46So basically double their take from each of their mining operations and the same time
03:50on the negative side of that it increase their greed greatly which you see during this episode
03:55like this the whole arc of Durin the third like it happens way faster because they want
03:59the timeline to move so much faster on the show notice Durin the fourth continues to
04:03find everything very sus like he spotted Annatar a mile away like something is off about him.
04:08What's going on Dizzy Sauron secretly, but as they eventually find the sunlight using
04:13the power of the ring.
04:14You see the light fall back on the crops then fall back on Elrond's tree that Durin the
04:18fourth was growing that was grown from one of the seeds of the tree of Lindon.
04:22It's the same type of tree.
04:24Notice the only person that seems bummed about this is Deesa who continues to be the voice
04:27of caution through the episode all the way to the end where she demands that Durin the
04:31fourth will never wear one of the rings of power.
04:35She's also the one that starts to spot the Balrog like wait a minute.
04:38What is that crazy creature in the deep yelling back at me that can't be good.
04:42It's all part of Sauron's larger plan because it sounds like he knew that the Balrog is
04:47out there and is trying to reawaken him faster using the dwarven rings his influence over
04:52the dwarven rings.
04:54So part of the idea is that Sauron is using his direct influence over the dwarven rings
04:57because he had a hand in creating them unlike the elven rings.
05:01He's using that to influence Durin the third to overmine to cause the Balrog to attack
05:06them faster because he wants the Balrogs power part of the ideas the Balrogs were Morgoth's
05:12chief lieutenants like they were part of the most powerful group of Maiar that served Morgoth.
05:18If it's not clear the Balrogs are Maiar just like Sauron they just take a different form
05:22they're meant to be just as powerful if not more powerful than Sauron.
05:26The only difference during the first stage is that Sauron was just calling the shots
05:29for Morgoth the Balrogs were Morgoth's real heavy hitters that he would send out when
05:34he wanted to really go after someone.
05:36So I think the idea is that is Sauron starts to take influence directly over the people
05:40that wear the rings of power.
05:41One of his plans within plans is to slowly call the Balrog back to him like the armies
05:47coming back together were taking over the planet I need your help.
05:50So go wake him up.
05:51Back in Eregion Celebrimbor celebrates the recent success of the Dwarven rings by unveiling
05:56that he's made the doors of Durin with Narvi.
05:58So there's been a little bit of a time jump like it took him a little while to actually
06:01make those doors.
06:03One of the other funny details about this too is that there is no actual password as
06:06he mentioned there's a password to get into the actual doors themselves.
06:10It's not a password.
06:11If you speak Elvish like literally anybody that speaks Elvish can just speak the word
06:15friend in Elvish and they'll get into Khazad-dûm the quick way.
06:19The only person here who seems unhappy is Sauron who refuses to drink any white notice
06:24that you haven't actually seen him drink anything or eat anything, but he does offer a lot of
06:29food and wine to other people.
06:31That's mostly because is a mire he doesn't actually need to consume fruit or water himself
06:36just because it feels like it's a waste of time here.
06:38He wants Celebrimbor to create the nine rings for men as they argue and he starts to gas
06:43like Celebrimbor into doing that for him his whole thing in this episode is to try and
06:48make the nine rings before any other forces of elves makes it to Eregion to put the kybosh
06:54on their big ring party their couple funny foreshadowing moments throughout many their
06:58conversations in the episode like here he straight up calls him on his game planting
07:02ideas in people's minds basically gaslighting them into thinking that they have their own
07:07plans all along when really is just Sauron's plan that they're enacting part of this whole
07:11master plan for the rings of power is the power not of the flesh.
07:16But over flesh basically controlling everyone's minds on the planet Celebrimbor recounts why
07:23elves are so mistrustful of men remembering that it was the men of the Southlands who
07:27serve Morgoth in the first age.
07:29Not the Numenorean men also reminding him that during season one.
07:33It was actually men of the Southlands that help them create Mordor in the first place
07:37causing Mount Doom to erupt ash into the sky blotting out the sun when Sauron asked him
07:42if he's ever been to Numenor I feel like that's more foreshadowing for Sauron's book
07:46plot what happens to Farazon eventually in the idea that one of the men of Numenor will
07:51become one of the nine one of the ring race eventually early theory that's going to wind
07:55up being Kemen I'll explain why we get to that part of the episode because I don't think
07:59that Farazon will wind up being one of the ring bearers, but all this talk of Sauron
08:04and Numenor is meant to just basically deal with that part of the books just because they're
08:08compressing the timeline so much so certain people have to be certain places for certain
08:12things to actually happen that are really important to the book plot when he mentions
08:15that Numenor is a place that's fractured teetering between glory and ruin that's basically the
08:19division between the Kingsmen the people that are loyal to Farazon and the faithful the
08:24people that are loyal to Miriel the Valar and Elendil I expect that to culminate by
08:29the end of the season like the faithful maybe sail back to Middle-earth by the end of the
08:34season Sauron then foreshadows his eventual defeat during the war the last alliance like
08:38talk about the Numenoreans here when he says that amongst the race of men there always
08:43some who rise forth and shine.
08:45This is meant to be a reference to a couple different people that he mentions, but also
08:48I think to Isildur cutting the one ring off of his hand and destroying his body again
08:53ending the war the last alliance which will probably wind up being like the last episode
08:58of the show like the series finale then he mentions Earendil, Tuor, and Beren son of
09:03Beren here Earendil literally shines now as a star basically in the night sky wearing
09:08a Silmaril on his brow that was his fate after the war of wrath like when he died instead
09:13of actual death the Valar turned him into a star journey across the night sky in his
09:17boat essentially so on any given night Elrond can look at the night sky and see his father
09:22Earendil traveling across the night sky Tuor was a really important human during the first
09:28age when Morgoth was still around who eventually came to live in Gondolin was really involved
09:33in Morgoth's wars on Gondolin the fall of Gondolin.
09:36He did a bunch of heroic stuff he eventually married Idril daughter of the king of Gondolin
09:41who gave birth to Earendil Elrond's father one of Tuor's nicknames also became star father
09:47because he is the father of Earendil who is now a star basically and even if you haven't
09:52read the books you probably know about Beren and Luthien.
09:54So Beren son of Beren here is the same one from the story Beren and Luthien during the
09:58first age who stole a Silmaril off of Morgoth's crown while it was still on his head as part
10:04of a mission given to him by Luthien's father Thingol he told Beren that he would be allowed
10:09to marry his daughter Luthien if he could steal a Silmaril from Morgoth's brow assuming
10:14that he never be able to complete the task, but he did.
10:17It's also one of the key moments in history that turned the tide against Morgoth because
10:21the minute that people heard that a human stole a Silmaril from Morgoth who was so powerful
10:27that people were like wait a minute we do actually have a chance of defeating this guy if a human could do that.
10:32Then Sauron tells Celebrimbor that they find the wisest noblest men they can find and trust
10:38to give the rings to which is also another trick because the ring lore even though we
10:42don't know exactly everyone that got a ring like we don't know that much about the nine
10:47they were just referred to as men who use the power to become kings in their own nations
10:53Each of them eventually fell to the influence of the rings into Sauron at different rates
10:57depending on their relative character before they got the ring.
11:00So the most noble took longer to fall to Sauron's influence than the more evil who fell much
11:05quicker.
11:06So part of the idea is they want to tease you that some of the people that get rings
11:10some of the men will actually be good people who are slowly twisted evil which I think
11:15actually supports some of the theories about Theo becoming the witch king like the ideas
11:20that he has a lot of hate inside of him, but is essentially a good person like he wants
11:24to be good.
11:25But the rings influence slowly twists in evil over time when he says they're going to look
11:29amongst the nine nations of men across the world from Numenor to rune that basically
11:34tells you that each realm is only going to get one ring.
11:38So like one ring is going to Numenor one ring is going to rune even though we know the witch
11:42king becomes one of the nine we don't know what his original name was which is why we
11:46have all these Theo theories like wait a minute.
11:49Maybe he's really going to be Theo Tolkien actually refers to the specific name of one
11:54of the nine from the east.
11:56We know the ringwraith that comes from the east was named Camille.
11:59So I'm assuming that will meet him at some point either later this season or in season
12:03three.
12:04He's probably going to wind up being one of these men under these masks.
12:08So one of the big things on the show now is guessing which people on the show that we've
12:11seen will wind up getting rings Celebrimbor's whole line about reach exceeding their grasp.
12:16Also feels like another reference to Sauron getting the ring cut off his finger as he
12:20reaches for Isildur on the battlefield during the war of the last alliance and when Celebrimbor
12:25then says no more and Sauron says he'll make the nine himself is also meant to foreshadow
12:29the Nazgul the ringwraiths but also foreshadow him creating the one ring of power himself
12:34in secret which he is not done yet what they might do because are going to finish crafting
12:39the nine this season they might wait for him to finish crafting the one ring of power to
12:44like the very beginning of season three or maybe will tease that at the end of season
12:47two if the show is going to go five seasons.
12:50I don't expect him to actually start wearing the one ring of power to like sometime during
12:55later season three maybe even by the beginning of season four just that he's only wearing
12:59it for like a couple seasons is the war ramps up real fast.
13:02I think the minute that he puts the one ring of power on it's like a dead race to the war
13:06the last alliance part of the reason for that is that the minute the Sauron puts the one
13:11ring of power on his finger instantly it connects every single ring of power in everybody
13:16that's wearing one of the rings, including the elves that are wearing the three he doesn't
13:19have as much influence over instantly realize what is trick was this whole time on them
13:26and what the rings are really doing to them.
13:28So part of the idea is the minute he puts the one ring of power on is sort of like the
13:32beginning of the end like he has to conquer the planet before they assemble the rest of
13:36the forces of the planet against him and I'm assuming that we don't really push into that
13:40more like when it's like a dead race to the actual series finale to like season four territory,
13:46but you can let me know in the comments with when do you actually think that he will physically
13:49put the one ring of power on his actual finger maybe like late season three like the end
13:54of season three is a big teaser then in Numenor Farazon starts talking about Valinor he mentions
13:59the white tower of Arisaia which the Numenoreans can see across their western shore that's
14:04where the master palantir is kept is the easternmost point the easternmost city on Valinor he mentions
14:10the undying lands basically foreshadowing the beginning of the end for him in the Kingsmen
14:15just because the way things are moving on the show.
14:18I don't expect the actual downfall of Numenor to happen to like closer to one of the final
14:22seasons like I don't think it'll happen that quickly, but they do make you feel like it's
14:27coming pretty soon.
14:28The way he's talking about in this conversation here.
14:31The whole idea in the books was that Sauron tricked them into invading the undying lands
14:35thinking that they could force the Valar to give them the same immortality that elves
14:40had when really that was just a trick on Sauron's part to get them to kill themselves
14:44like suicide by cop only the cops in this case or the Valar this whole conversation
14:49with Kemen is also to foreshadow one of the Numenoreans getting one of the rings of power.
14:54But because of the way the Farazon is supposed to die in the books.
14:57I think they'll stay relatively true to that.
15:00So I don't think that he gets a ring of power because his body is basically trapped in Valinor
15:04for the rest of time me that he can't be one of the nine.
15:08So the part of the idea here is this argument the Kemen is having with them is the Kemen
15:12thinks that they should lead the Numenoreans to like this grand new age of their people,
15:17but Farazon is obsessed with Valinor.
15:19So I think they want to foreshadow the Kemen becomes one of the nine gets one of those
15:23rings then falls to its influence.
15:26Maybe eventually becomes like the leader of the black Numenoreans who survived the downfall
15:30and live in Middle-earth, but they're like the evil Numenoreans for instance the mouth
15:34of Sauron that you see during the return of the king is a black Numenorean when they
15:39mention the mental Tarma that's the sacred mountain at the center of Numenor like he
15:43said that he can actually see Valinor when he stands on the peak of that notice he's
15:48also wearing red like he wanted Muriel to wear because the nobles recently named him
15:52new king over her.
15:54That's why they're calling his faction the king's men the people that are loyal to him.
15:58So keep in mind here with the whole ring of power going to Numenor is that whoever gets
16:02it has to survive well into the third age, which is why I think they want you to think
16:06it's going to be Kemen at least are foreshadowing that will be Kemen.
16:10That's also why I think that Farazon says you know your mother prophesied that you would
16:14come to ill ends like the ill end is him basically becoming a ringwraith Elendil and Muriel talk
16:19about the more sensible Numenoreans they're the ones that will survive the downfall by
16:23sailing back to Middle-earth and creating their own kingdom there of Gondor and Arnor
16:28when they start talking about the visions they both had inside the palantir he says
16:32the only remembers seeing himself leaving the city of Numenor, but not really knowing
16:36what happened after that that just meant to foreshadow him going back to Middle-earth
16:40Muriel says that she previously only saw the downfall of Numenor, but the minute that Elendil
16:45touched the palantir she stopped seeing that because he sort of like the future of their
16:50people at the future of the faithful to survive and live in Middle-earth.
16:54She tells him to chill for now just like wait for the right opportunity, which I think is
16:58meant to foreshadow them eventually marshalling the faithful and heading back maybe by the
17:02end of the season.
17:03Maybe beginning of season three and speaking of him.
17:06They also really want you to hate Elendil's daughter Aerion she's not really character
17:10in the books.
17:11They're just using her to get you to care more about the drama the rift between the
17:14Kingsman the faithful and make it more personal for Elendil leaving Numenor to go back to
17:19Middle-earth like he'll have to basically leave his daughter to the eventual downfall
17:23of Numenor R.I.P. pretty easy to guess that she's going to die during the downfall because
17:28he basically gives her that warning.
17:30It's a long way to the bottom of the sea.
17:33They even have an oh captain my captain moment for him to as he lays down his sword because
17:38the Kingsman are basically kicking out the faithful from all the ranks.
17:42Then we see the palantir the pharaoh's own has now stolen and is using himself.
17:47Now remember people don't always see the truth inside the palantir Sauron is capable of manipulating
17:52what people see inside them.
17:54This might be how he manipulates pharaoh's own to the idea of invading Valinor part of
17:59the reason that he wants to get rid of the Numenoreans because he knows how powerful
18:03they are how powerful the weapons are.
18:05So he wants to take away any potential advantage or alliance that the elves conform against
18:10him inside Middle-earth.
18:12So what he might be doing here is gaslighting pharaoh's own to invade Valinor using visions
18:17that he shows him inside the palantir like look how victorious you'll be you'll be immortal
18:21when really that's not the case at all cannot wait to see this guy die also can't wait to
18:27see Kemen get his ass handed to him if he winds up becoming one of the ringwraiths there
18:31couple people in the show like they really really want you to hate Gil-galad gets Celebrimbor's
18:36letter that he sent earlier hoping to throw him off of Sauron's scent without realizing
18:40it giving them more time to finish the nine rings, but it seems like he does not trust
18:44what Celebrimbor is saying like he senses something is up something is sus all because
18:49as he told Galadriel earlier he's also been getting visions of the future through his
18:53wearing of the ring which we then see like we see some of his visions.
18:57Some of these are little nebulous like we see what looks like a mountain exploding that
19:00could be Khazad-dûm as the balrog erupts out of the earth or it could be part of the
19:05downfall of Numenor being destroyed just because it seems like giant landmass is being destroyed
19:11all the dead fish also seems kind of like a downfall of Numenor reference as well.
19:16Then he sees Sauron in his full armor with his crown.
19:19This is actually a shot directly taken from season one episode one like they just copy
19:22pasted it seen from that back in Morgoth's fortress of four old ways will probably see
19:27Sauron wearing this armor with his crown in the final season during the war the last alliance,
19:33but will see how long it is before he actually puts the crown on his head because we do see
19:37him holding the crown in the season two trailer all these orcs in the fire the fighting the
19:42orcs going crazy probably from the fall of Eregion which is happening later this
19:46season that's the battle the basically covers like the last couple episodes of this season
19:50when his aid starts arguing with them about their battle planning part of the idea I think
19:54is that Gil-galad is seeing the wrong things taking the wrong meaning from his visions
19:59and that'll prevent him from sending support to Eregion in time causing the downfall to
20:04happen faster like the great tragedy will be the Eregion falls because he is unable
20:09to send aid in time because Sauron was misleading him through visions in the ring.
20:15We also see Elrond right on cue running back to Lindon with Galadriel's ring.
20:20Remember he's the one that told Galadriel that they're not going to trust anything that
20:23anyone sees by the wearing of the ring basically cautioning him against trusting the visions
20:29that they see which is correct.
20:30He's correct to be wary of that is the same concept with the visions from the palantir
20:35like everybody misinterprets the visions they see for the most part.
20:39Then we start to see the negative influence of the dwarven ring of power on during the
20:42third as he search to lay a tax on the city.
20:45Basically his greed getting far far worse Disa finds the secret cave in her resident
20:50abilities seemingly alerts the Balrog who calls back to her like all that can't be good
20:55what's bellowing back at me from the darkness I already talked about how this is all part
20:59of Sauron's master plan like he's probably trying to use the dwarven rings to manipulate
21:03them to wake the Balrog faster so that he can form another alliance with him.
21:07Just like the Balrog was serving Morgoth like hey I'm the new dark Lord why don't you come
21:11serve me they tease during the third is only going to give the other six dwarven Lords
21:15their rings of power if they pledge 50% of their yearly take to Khazad-dum for like a
21:22brief second he goes full Gollum where's my precious where's the ring where is it and
21:27begins their slow downfall to the Balrog causing them to begin over mining the mountain that's
21:32part of the lore the Gandalf give to the fellowship when there in Khazad-dum the dwarves delved
21:36too deep.
21:37So that's basically during the third doing that right now.
21:41Here's the thing though Khazad-dum didn't actually fall to the Balrog till way way later
21:46in the timeline of the books.
21:47I don't know they're going to change that on the show and have that happen during the
21:51events of the show.
21:52Then we see Celebrimbor writing a letter and it seems like he's getting ready to tell Gil
21:56Gallad the truth about Annatar like no no I lied before this is what's really going
22:00on here Mirdania his assistant accidentally puts on one of the new rings and it sends
22:06her into the unseen realm.
22:08That's why she seems invisible like Frodo when he puts the one ring of power on her
22:11body was pulled into the spirit world and she speaks of mist and darkness.
22:16This is also meant to foreshadow the one ring of power because the other rings don't do
22:19that to the where quite so quickly like all the nine are slowly pulled into the unseen
22:25realm, but it takes many many years for that to happen to them.
22:29She describes seeing a vision of the Balrog in the unseen realm because their Maiar just
22:34like Sauron.
22:35In fact, they're just as powerful if not more powerful than Sauron.
22:37They were actually Morgoth's chief lieutenant Sauron was just calling the shots, but one
22:42of the reasons why she saw it in the unseen realm is because Maiar and Valar exist in
22:46both realms.
22:47In fact, they're just pure spirits inside the unseen realm that can take physical form
22:52in the physical world if they want to.
22:54So Sauron really just exists in the unseen realm and then just chooses to have a physical
22:58body in the seen realm when she was talking about getting a vision of all this flame
23:03before she started talking about the Balrog I thought for a second she was going to describe
23:07seeing Sauron in his true form because in the unseen realm as Sauron later tells her
23:12everything exists is it truly is like Sauron would look like he originally did in the unseen
23:17realm.
23:18There was actually a deleted scene from return of the king that featured him taking his true
23:23original Maiar form.
23:24This is what it's meant to look like they start to tease the beginning of the end of
23:28Sauron and Eregion like people are starting to wise up about what's really going on because
23:32during the four shows up and starts telling Celebrimbor that Annatar seems super sus
23:36like something about the rings is making my father seem way more evil now what did you
23:40guys do yet remember the plug in a finish crafting the nine rings for men by the end
23:44of the season and basically were can have the fall of Eregion.
23:47So all that's going to go down pretty soon.
23:50He starts to gaslight Mirdania into thinking that something is actually wrong with Celebrimbor
23:54like nope it's not me it's Celebrimbor he's the reason everything's going wrong right
23:58now just more of him playing four-dimensional chess with everyone to help get them to finish
24:04crafting the nine rings.
24:06The reason why she so taken in by his compliments using Galadriel is an example is that Galadriel
24:11is viewed as one of the greatest elves in the world.
24:14So like all elf women would admire her and look up to her like you think I look just
24:18like Galadriel oh my God that's so amazing part of the reason why he talks about the
24:22light in her hair seeming like Galadriel's hair is that her heritage Galadriel is that
24:28she's half Vanyar who were called the light elves.
24:30So her hair shown with light kind of like the light of the two trees is rumored that
24:36Faenor got the idea to capture the light of the two trees in the Silmarils from seeing
24:41her hair.
24:43There's a whole back story from the first stage and why Faenor and Galadriel kind of
24:46hated each other because of Galadriel's hair part of the idea is that Galadriel refused
24:51to give Faenor any strands of her hair eventually she did do that to Gimli later though during
24:56the movies.
24:57It was meant to be a really really big deal.
25:00Kemen and Farazun order the shrine of the faithful to be destroyed on Numenor they fight
25:04and ultimately wind up killing Valandil R.I.P.
25:07This is also meant to further motivate Elendil to lead the faithful away from Numenor and
25:12also get you to hate Kemen even more if you already didn't.
25:16Sauron then gaslights Celebrimbor into making him believe that he's the reason the dwarven
25:21rings were altered somehow because of the letter lying to Gil-gal like you're the person
25:25that brought the seed into this you're the reason why things are different and making
25:29him think his only two options are either to complete the nine rings or confess the
25:35truth to Gil-galad and never be allowed to ever make anything ever again and keep in
25:40mind that Celebrimbor is the grandson of Faenor the greatest craftsman in the history of the
25:45planet.
25:46So Celebrimbor has lived his entire life wanted to create something as great as Faenor be
25:50remembered as being as great as Faenor.
25:54So literally the worst possible thing you could do to him like the worst possible torture
25:58would be to not allow him to make anything.
26:00So that's why he's like okay fine will just make the nine then is a really interesting
26:04scene at the end with Durin and Disa he swears to her that he'll never wear one of the dwarven
26:09rings of power will see about that because like I said the dwarven ring of power that
26:13Durin the third his father is wearing that will eventually pass to him when he dies.
26:18That's the same ring that survived throughout his life Durin the fourth's line to Thrain
26:23the second his descendant that we see during the hobbit movies his ring of power meaning
26:27that that ring of power survives throughout that entire timeline that doesn't mean that
26:32Durin the fourth wears it, but it does mean that he still has the ring of power Celebrimbor's
26:37whole line here about the nine rings for men redeeming them all by tying together all their
26:41work with the other rings of power connecting to the other rings is part of Sauron's larger
26:46plan to bind the power the rings together under the one ring of power under his power
26:52one ring to rule them all one ring to find them one ring to bring them all and in the
26:57darkness bind them while he's saying this.
27:00They also play Sauron's theme from the show Mordor where the shadows lie as they zoom
27:04in on Sauron's face like I said though I don't think that he's actually in a craft the one
27:09ring of power for like a little while longer.
27:12Then we see Adar's orc army getting to the borders of Eregion the battle will probably
27:16last for the final few episodes like I think they want to tease the battle beginning towards
27:20the end of episode six and completely through episode seven and eight.
27:24Then they back up the idea that Gil-galad is getting the wrong ideas from his visions
27:28in his ring misinterpreting things and won't be able to send aid to Eregion in time to
27:34prevent his fall.
27:35Then they in the episode with Adar tempting Galadriel with an alliance.
27:39The enemy of my enemy is my friend kind of situation because they both hate Sauron but
27:44remember Sauron tried to trick Adar into attacking Eregion making him think that Galadriel had
27:49allied with Sauron to create the weapon that he was trying to create back when Adar killed
27:54him during the beginning of the second age.
27:56So I'm assuming in the next episode or two Galadriel and Adar have that conversation
28:00where she's like I have no idea what you're talking about.
28:02I'm not an ally of Sauron's I hate him too and they do kind of work together for a brief
28:07hot second, but remember we still see the fall of Eregion happening all the trailers
28:12so Adar's orcs are going to wind up destroying that no matter what basically meaning the
28:16Sauron's whole gambit here works like his plan is to basically get everybody to destroy
28:21themselves for him.
28:23So we can walk into the ashes and just claim all the rings for himself part of this whole
28:27trick is to get everybody else to do his dirty work for him was a bunch of new lore and references
28:33throughout the episode.
28:34If there any big Easter eggs or references that you spotted that I didn't talk about
28:37in the video.
