00:00You signed John Egan after he'd been training with you for a few weeks. What was it that you
00:03seen in him to make you want to sign him?
00:05Well, a number of things really. One, the character of the human being in terms of John
00:12came in for the week, last couple of weeks really trained with us, brings a wealth of experience
00:17in that sense. And it's probably what we need as well when you look at certainly our backline is
00:24quite young. It's a group of players who have probably not been in and around this level
00:31so much. Excited about them young talents but certainly probably want the confidence of one
00:37which John brings. He brings quality, he's been in and around it, been promoted out of this
00:41division, knows what he's got the t-shirt, he knows what's needed. And also I think he helps
00:47with the group as well. These young players, the CJs, the Maxes, the Humphreys, the Lucases,
00:55you know, this is a guy with vast experience that can help these players get to where they
00:59need to get to as well really.
01:01He didn't play a lot of things to do with that injury. Is that all behind him now?
01:04Has he proved his fitness?
01:05Yeah, he has. Yeah, look, he's in a good place at this present moment in time. Like I said,
01:09trained with us for the last two and a half weeks. So yeah, I'm delighted for us to have
01:14managed to get this over the line. And like I said, I think there's a lot of aspects of John
01:22which is going to help us this year really.
01:24Are you still looking at three agents or is that likely to be it now until January?
01:27Yeah, probably likely to be it now. Yeah, we'll go with where we are now in that sense
01:32and run it now until January and work with this team and work with this group of players
01:38and we'll revisit that come the window.
