00:19Well, a noun is a word that is a person, place, or thing.
00:27In other words, if a word is a person, place, or thing, it is a noun.
00:36You may not realize this, but there are two types of nouns.
00:42There are common nouns and there are proper nouns.
00:47And what's exciting is by the end of this video, you're going to know the difference

02:07The proper noun for this is Fido.
02:11Here's another example.
02:13Here is a girl.
02:17A girl.
02:18And girl would be the common noun because the common noun is a type of person, place, or thing.
02:24But this girl's name is Rachel.
02:28Rachel would be the proper noun because it's a specific person, place, or thing.
02:35So, the common noun is girl.
02:37The proper noun is Rachel.
02:43Here's another one.
02:45Here we have a picture of a park.
02:48Park would be the common noun.
