00:00The Royal Children's Hospital says the three young children remain in a critical condition
00:08here.
00:09So that's the three-year-old boy and two girls aged five and just 21 months old.
00:15Unfortunately their condition hasn't improved since they were brought here after being discovered
00:20in that awful fire on Sunday night.
00:24Neighbours reported hearing loud bangs like an explosion.
00:28And then when firefighters arrived the rear of the property was already fully engulfed
00:34in flames.
00:35They managed to rescue these three young children who were unconscious and suffered from smoke
00:41inhalation.
00:42Police say they're still trying to determine exactly what sparked this blaze and they're
00:47still trying to determine whether or not these children were alone at home at the time.
00:54And they say that they haven't yet been able to conduct a proper formal interview with
00:59the mother as of yesterday.
01:01That's because she's been understandably quite distressed and by the children's bedside.
01:06And police say that both the mother and the biological father are known to police.
01:13And they say that at this stage it's still too early to say yet whether or not this fire
01:18has any suspicious circumstances.
01:21But the thoughts are at the moment with these three young children who continue to fight
01:25for their lives.
