00:00At the inauguration of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month,

00:02President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. visited and provided assistance

00:06at the Philippine Children's Medical Center.

00:09Here are the details of Bernard Ferel's story.

00:14President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. visited the Philippine Children's Medical Center

00:19or PCMC in Quezon City.

00:21This was at the same time as the inauguration of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

00:25to raise awareness on childhood cancer management.

00:28PCMC is close to the heart of Puno, Ecuador

00:32because it was established on the basis of Presidential Decree No. 1631

00:36issued by his father, former President Ferdinand E. Marcos, Sr.

00:40Until PCMC was inaugurated by his mother, former First Lady Emelda R. Marcos,

00:46who served as Minister of Human Settlements until it was fully opened

00:49to the public to provide pediatric healthcare on June 23, 1980.

00:55PCMC is also one of the National Centers for Specialized Healthcare

00:59under the Department of Health.

01:01That's why President Marcos, Jr. took over

01:04the check worth P150 million.

01:07He also assured that the government will continue to help

01:11our fellow countrymen who need quality medical services.

01:16To our little warriors and their families,

01:18you're not alone in this fight.

01:21We are here with you and your fellow countrymen

01:26in everything you do to help your children

01:31to be healthy and strong.

01:34He is also building the PCMC Legacy Tower

01:37which has 20 floors to support the health services

01:41of the growing population of the country.

01:43It has a 500-bed capacity treasury hospital

01:46to provide pediatric care,

01:49training programs for medical, nursing, and allied healthcare providers.

01:53President Marcos, Jr. also built the new equipment in the Legacy Tower.

01:59The newly installed diagnostic imaging machines,

02:01the 3-Tesla MRI,

02:03the 128-slice CT scan,

02:06and the dynamic DER X-ray machine.

02:10They're not just shiny new machines, new technologies.

02:14They are lifelines.

02:15They allow us to diagnose more quickly,

02:18treat more effectively,

02:19and give every child a fighting chance.

02:22President Marcos, Jr. also praised the doctors and patients

02:26of PCMC for his amazing talent.
