00:00I'm Erik Henriksen, I'm the cinematographer, and we're on the set with The Weeknd, shooting
00:11his music video on the new iPhone 16 Pro.
00:14Okay, Emil, we're going to do a super fast song, try to sing on it, try to sing on it.
00:18Go!
00:19120, right?
00:20Yeah.
00:21When we were told that the iPhone can now shoot in 4K, 120 frames per second, we wanted
00:27to do a music video shot in slow motion.
00:37Shooting 4K 120 really helped us to slow down reality, to slow down the elements, slow down
00:45The Weeknd's movement.
00:47You didn't have to think like, oh, it's just an iPhone.
00:51We just pushed it as far as we normally do.
00:53Really creating epic shots.
00:56Will there be wind and all that?
00:57Yeah, we're going to have a bunch of wind.
00:58A little bit of, like, stuff flying behind you.
01:00Okay.
01:01Abel's a super cool character to shoot.
01:04I worked with him before on different sets.
01:07It's hard to miss with him.
01:08I love shooting portraits on the iPhone.
01:10You can get really close to the subject, it becomes really intimate.
01:14And with the new photo styles, you can dial back contrast, and you can punch it up if
01:18you need.
01:19So it's super helpful to just see it as you're shooting.
01:23Whoa!
01:24Wow, I did not expect it to look like that.
01:27I really think the ultra-wide capture is such a cool and unique perspective.
01:31I definitely get sharper detail with the ultra-wide lens because of the new 48 megapixels.
01:37And with camera control, it allows anyone to just access so many of the features.
01:41You know, your exposure, your focal lengths, photo styles.
01:44I want to go darker.
01:45You want to just say exposure?
01:47Yep.
01:48And with just a few taps in camera control, I can make technical decisions in real time.
01:54And if a moment comes up in between takes, we just took up the phone and we just started
01:58shooting.
01:59It's in the moment of energy, you know, you don't want to break it.
02:01We can get those moments when we see them, and it won't be just a memory.
02:05Two, one, action.
02:07And shooting with Apple Log means we have more flexibility to explore color in post.
02:13The new camera features on the iPhone 16 Pro make it a filmmaking powerhouse.
02:22You stop thinking about it being an iPhone, and you treat it like a normal camera.
