Grant and Danny both liked what they saw from Jamin Davis in his new role in the opener against Tampa Bay and are excited to see where he can take his new position.

00:00you gave a game ball way, way earlier today to Jamin Davis. We have not talked about him really
00:05at all. But even though he didn't play a lot, Jamin Davis had a TFL in the backfield that he
00:11blew up for a run stuff for minus four, I think it was. And he made two very noticeable plays
00:17in short order early in the ball game. His transition to defensive end is going pretty
00:22well, I would say. Now, whether or not he can consistently rush the quarterback and get home
00:27and actually generate some pressures and some sacks is how we're going to determine eventually
00:32whether or not it's a sustainable thing. And him staying there and staying in this organization at
00:36that position is a worthwhile endeavor. But for a guy that was on the bubble at the start of camp,
00:42that people were saying may not make the team. I still like what I see pretty consistently now
00:47between the preseason and the very small sample early in week one from Jamin Davis,
00:52learning a new position. So I will give this staff credit in this regard.
00:56One of the things that's always frustrated me about bad organizations versus good ones. And
00:59this has certainly been a bad one for a long time is it's always, you know, this guy, somebody has
01:04to fit into what we do, or let's focus on what they can't do instead of finding what they can
01:09do. I mean, my example is always the Ravens. They always find somebody where like Terrell
01:13Suggs, for example, slipped in the first round. Well, it's 40 time was bad. They said, we don't
01:16care. We'll find something that he can do. And, and he's one of the best, best pass rushers ever
01:20for Davis. There was a lot of struggle trying to get him to do certain things at certain times,
01:24in certain places. It's not an insult. It's hard to do some of those things. If it's not
01:27what your natural skillset is trying to overcome certain stuff, he's good at not having to think
01:33too much and reacting quickly and using his quicks and speed. He's good at that. So put
01:38him at defensive end. Now, you know, you play the Tennessee Titans of a couple of years ago with
01:43Derrick Henry, you know, run it off tackle that way. You probably don't want to put them out there
01:46for 50, 60 snaps trying to hold the edge. But if the game is get up field, young man, he could do
01:51that.
