00:00Welcome to WatchMojo and today we're counting down our picks for the anime fights whose animation,
00:13imagery and or action is so stunning they have us picking our jaws off the floor.
00:3020.
00:31Mob vs Mogami – Mob Psycho 100
00:35There are plenty of incredible looking fights in this supernatural action comedy yet we'd
00:40argue this is the wildest.
00:49Mob is trapped in the mindscape of Mogami, a powerful fellow psychic turned evil spirit.
00:56Tormented by the voices of the dead, Mob is almost ready to give up but then remembers
01:02that he came to save someone.
01:04With his powers going to 100%, the middle schooler turns his formidable abilities against
01:09Mogami.
01:20This crazy Inception-esque cityscape makes for a larger than life setting, while the
01:26two combatants' psychic powers cause immense and astonishing destruction.
01:40Mob may not have life figured out, but his show has great fight scenes down to a science.
01:4619.
01:47Marcille vs Undine – Delicious in Dungeon
01:51In a dungeon, even something as mundane as tossing out water can lead to danger.
01:57Elf mage Marcille discovers this to her cost, as her bit of housekeeping inadvertently disturbs
02:03an Undine, a mobile mass of water.
02:15Between the POV shots and the gorgeous water effects, it's a stunningly animated sequence.
02:26Stranded on the water, low on magic and without her staff, Marcille has to improvise, eventually
02:32spotting the creature colored with her own blood and using an attack to injure it and
02:38launch herself to safety.
02:47It's not a particularly important fight, but it still goes hard.
02:52Then again, Delicious in Dungeon is done by Studio Trigger, and they're generally the
02:57opposite of restrained.
02:5918.
03:00Zuleta vs Elan – Mobile Suit Gundam – The Witch from Mercury
03:05Mecha fights tend to feature some great visual spectacles, and this modern entry into the
03:10Gundam franchise is no exception.
03:22Zuleta Mercury duels Elan Ceres with their mobile suits in space, with Zuleta putting
03:28her own suit on the line and Elan being forced to be open about himself should he lose.
03:34Uneven bets aside, the two-mobile-suit space-borne battle is a veritable dance of lasers, flying
03:40gund bits and other weaponry.
03:52Although Elan seems sure to win, just when he has Zuleta cornered, her gund bits surround
03:58her and release an EMP, securing the win.
04:10Elan's loss may make for a poor birthday present for him, but the fight is still a
04:14celebration of impeccably realized visuals.
04:1817.
04:19Sonraku vs Wezaemon – The Tomb Guard – Shangri-La Frontier
04:25Sure, Sonraku's party members, Oikatsu and Arthur Pencil Gun are technically in the
04:30fight too, but while they're dealing with a giant robot horse, Sonraku, the bird-headed
04:36glass cannon, is left to solo Wezaemon, the Tomb Guard.
04:55When Sonraku has trouble keeping up with the zombie cyber-samurai's speed, their swift
04:59exchanges and Wezaemon's continuous switching of his attack patterns leaves the Birdman
05:05on his toes, and needing frequent rezzes, sometimes from himself.
05:18Ultimately, it all comes down to Sonraku having to perfectly parry Wezaemon's ultimate move.
05:28In an impressively animated clash, Sonraku succeeds, shattering not only the undead samurai's
05:34sword, but his armor as well.
05:47Wezaemon is laid to rest, but we're wide awake and ready to watch this fight repeatedly.
05:5416.
05:55Bōji vs Boss – Ranking of Kings – The odds have always been stacked against the
06:01pint-sized Prince Bōji, but his greatest challenge comes in the form of his own dad,
06:09Boss.
06:17After his gigantic father has possessed Bōji's brother, Daida, from beyond the grave, it's
06:23up to Bōji to take his papa down.
06:25His dodging of his father's titanic strikes and gradually whittling down his weapon is
06:31positively breathtaking with how fluidly it's executed.
06:39As much as the quality of what's on the screen has us cheering, we're even more
06:43excited to see the culmination of Bōji's journey from laughing stock to having the
06:48last laugh on the strongest man in the kingdom.
06:5915.
07:01Gunbuster vs Space Monsters – Gunbuster – Never let it be said that we can't appreciate
07:08the classics.
07:17While escorting the ship under attack from space monsters, Amano Kazumi, with encouragement
07:23from Takiya Noriko, overcomes some bad news and combines their ships into the titular
07:29mecha Gunbuster.
07:38Even decades after its debut, this fight scene is positively gorgeous, with the duo using
07:44new attack after new attack to destroy and practically delete the surrounding creatures.
08:01Homing lasers, lightning kicks, and explosions galore, this early GAINAX production really
08:07showed what the studio was capable of, since it still looks great to this day.
08:2214.
08:23Shinra vs Shou – Fire Force – Is this the most epic game of tag ever put to screen?
08:30I don't think possibly.
08:41Kusakabe Shinra's reunion with his little brother, Shou, is marred by his white-haired
08:46sibling having been abducted and brainwashed from a young age.
08:51Amid Shinra's attempts to reach him, their fight slash game of tag accelerates to increasingly
08:57ridiculous speeds.
09:09Shou's ability to stop time seems insurmountable, that is until Shinra forms a link with Shou,
09:16allowing him to take his Adola Boost to speeds faster than light.
09:26Filled with emotions, speedy animation, and dramatic lighting, this brotherly battle was
09:32a choice so natural, it practically happened at light speed.
09:3613.
09:37Bercouli vs Vector – Sword Art Online Alicization – SAO delivers some great visuals with its
09:44fight scenes, but this one is something special.
09:54Insecurity Knight Bercouli Hurlant chases down Vector and engages him in a duel.
10:00The fight is loaded with some fantastic imagery from Bercouli running on air, to the numerous
10:06slow motion shots, to the fast parrying of blows between the combatants.
10:15Unfortunately, Vector's ability to stun his foes leaves Bercouli down an arm.
10:25However, he persists, and the knight is eventually able to use his time-piercing sword to precisely
10:32strike Vector in the past, emerging victorious, though at the cost of his life.
10:44We can't go back and watch this fight again for the first time, unfortunately, but we'll
10:53doubtless return to it in the future.
10:5512.
10:56Shigaraki vs Star & Stripe – My Hero Academia When the number one hero in America comes
11:03to Japan's aid, the results are epic indeed.
11:16Confronted immediately by Tomura Shigaraki-slash-all-for-one in the air, Star and Stripe and her bros in
11:24Bravo Squad do everything they can to take him down.
11:28Star's quirk lets her impose new rules on whatever she touches, letting her pull off
11:33some moves with striking visuals, like holding lasers, creating a gigantic air version of
11:39herself, and a cruise missile punch.
11:45However, Shigaraki escapes death and manages to steal Star's quirk and kill her, but despite
11:55her death, Star gets revenge by imposing an order on her own quirk to destroy Shigaraki
12:01from the inside.
12:07We have to salute the grandeur of this brief, yet impactful battle.
12:1211.
12:13Levi vs. Kenny's Squad – Attack on Titan While the series generally goes gigantic with
12:19its fight scenes, one of its most dazzling doesn't involve Titans at all.
12:24Levi and his squad members are ambushed by Kenny, a man with whom Levi has a history,
12:30as well as a squad of military police.
12:40One part fight, and another part chase sequence, the incredibly fluid way Levi evades his pursuers
12:46through the streets by maneuvering over and around obstacles with his ODM gear is truly
12:52phenomenal.
13:07After briefly getting cornered in a bar, Levi bursts out and sets to rescue Eren and Historia,
13:13using both his grapple hooks and his swords to slice his way to them.
13:23Humanity's strongest soldier never disappoints, and neither does this battle.
13:2810.
13:29Sieg vs. Kana – Fate Apocrypha It wouldn't be a list of visually stunning
13:35anime fights without Fate.
13:43Sieg's battle against Kana is completely awe-inspiring.
13:47The duo uses their noble phantasms against one another in displays so powerful that they
13:53reshape the landscape around them.
13:55The animation, music, and scale of the fight are all absolutely top-notch.
14:11After an 11th-hour assist from Ryder, Sieg manages to get an opening that lets him defeat
14:17Kana at last.
14:32The imagery of the fight is so impressive, it's no wonder that Kana's such a good
14:37sport about losing.
14:38Not a bad sight to see before the end.
14:429.
14:43Asta & Yuno vs. Licht – Black Clover These two besties-slash-rivals get plenty
14:49of downright magical-looking fight scenes, but this tag team match against the resurrected
14:54king of elves is something special indeed.
15:05Casually outspeeding both of them and even stealing one of Asta's swords, Licht proves
15:10overwhelming, managing to absorb and release magic attacks back at them, all while running
15:16rings around the duo.
15:27Asta is briefly put out of action, but manages to come back just in time for a team-up attack
15:33with Yuno.
15:46Not only is the colour drained from the scene, but the theme song even plays.
15:51The fluid animation, great sense of speed, and beautiful attacks make this a fight that
15:56repeatedly surpasses its own limits.
16:068.
16:12Everyone vs. Pucci – JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Fights in JoJo are always a wild ride, but
16:19the finale of Stone Ocean is on another level entirely.
16:30Jolene, Jotaro, and the Green Dolphin Street Prison Gang confront Enrico Pucci at Cape
16:37Canaveral.
16:38The mad priest's stand has evolved into the incredibly powerful Made in Heaven, which
16:43lets him accelerate time on a universal scale, though only for non-living things.
16:58Pucci is able to kill almost all the heroes in this fight, thanks to how overpowered he
17:04is.
17:05The time acceleration and eventual aquatic setting lead to some amazing visuals, but
17:11the fruition of his plan is even more breathtaking.
17:28Pucci basically accelerates time so much that the universe resets entirely, leading to some
17:34truly inexplicable imagery.
17:37Emporio goes on quite the trip.
17:437.
17:47Gogeta vs. Broly – Dragon Ball Super Broly When it comes to larger-than-life anime battles,
17:53Dragon Ball is one of the biggest names in the business.
18:05This movie fight sees Vegeta and Goku fuse into Gogeta to combat the rampaging, legendary
18:12Super Saiyan Broly.
18:13All the usual yelling, power-ups, and beams are here, but turned up to 11.
18:31The speed, dynamic camera angles, and crazy visuals, like the combatants breaking through
18:36multiple dimensions, help make this a fight so spectacular, it's like someone made a
18:42wish on the Dragon Balls.
18:44Speaking of which, Broly gets a last-minute save from the magical, wish-granting orbs.
19:05Even if he lives to fight another day, we have a hard time believing his next battle
19:10will be able to top this one.
19:126.
19:13Itadori vs. Chozo – Jujutsu Kaisen Amid all the incredible supernatural action
19:19in Jujutsu Kaisen, this fight manages to stand out.
19:34Itadori is challenged by Chozo when the protagonist arrives in a subway station.
19:40The revenge-fueled antagonist is out for blood after Yuji killed his brothers, and
19:45he's willing to use his own blood to do it.
19:56To disrupt Chozo's powers, Yuji retreats into a bathroom and sets off the sprinklers,
20:02evening the playing field.
20:13The fight lasts for basically an entire episode, and it has non-stop gorgeous animation supplemented
20:19by fantastic choreography, beautiful lighting, and a climax that blows not only our minds,
20:26but Chozo's as well.
20:385.
20:40Demon Slayers vs. Daki and Gyutaro – Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba
20:45Tanjiro and company's lengthy battle against the brother and sister demons, Daki and Gyutaro,
20:51is a veritable feast for the eyes.
21:00Their clash takes them all over the entertainment district, while also basically leveling it.
21:06Every character gets a time to shine, and shine they do with attacks that are not only
21:11speedy, but flashy as well.
21:21And it all builds into one epic and emotional dual strike that sees not only the characters,
21:27but the animators too, surpass their limits.
21:41Ufotable have really outdone themselves with this one, and considering their track record,
21:46that's quite the achievement.
21:484.
21:49Yamamoto vs. Yuhaba – Bleach – Thousand Year Blood War
21:53Upon its revival, Bleach really stepped up its animation game, and the moment the Gotei
21:5913's leader, Captain Yamamoto, finally debuted his Bankai, pushed it even further.
22:12Yamamoto's battle with the Quincy leader sees him unleash flames of incredible potency,
22:18and even summon the skeletons of everyone he's ever killed.
22:22The fiery, terrifying visuals practically scorch themselves into our eyes, they're
22:28that fantastic.
22:45Although victory seems assured for the Shinigami, the person he fights initially is just a decoy,
22:51and the real deal steals that powerful Bankai, and cuts him down with some brilliantly blue
22:57attacks.
23:08The fight may mark Yamamoto's last stand, but he truly goes out in a blaze of glory.
23:143.
23:15Naruto and Sasuke vs. Momoshiki – Boruto – Naruto Next Generations
23:21When these fated rivals team up, it's always extraordinary, but this fight takes the cake.
23:35Naruto and Sasuke both battle the overpowered Otsutsuki member, Momoshiki.
23:41While the white-haired, horned man appears to have the advantage at first, once the Konoha
23:46ninjas get into a groove, they're nearly unstoppable.
23:59The detail of the choreography is astounding.
24:03There are callbacks to earlier fights in the franchise, and when the fight transitions
24:07to kaiju scale, the destruction gets even more breathtaking.
24:19Boruto may sneak in to steal his dad's thunder, but this fight is a victory for Naruto, Sasuke,
24:26and everyone watching.
24:272.
24:28Saitama vs. Boros – One Punch Man When an alien conqueror arrives on Earth,
24:34it's only natural that the strongest hero faces him.
24:38Saitama may be nonplussed about Boros' supreme and immeasurable strength, but the
24:43villain's clash with the undefeated hero is still one for the ages.
24:54The duo tear their way through Boros' galactic ship, and Saitama is even sent flying to the
24:59moon and back.
25:13Their final use of their ultimate moves against each other is quite the light show, and alters
25:17the weather.
25:19The meticulous realized environments, the speed of the combatants, and the gloriously
25:25illustrated attacks and transformations never fail to astound us.
25:29Saitama may be too strong, but we'd argue that the animators are even stronger.
25:551.
26:07Luffy vs. Kaido – One Piece Few anime fights have broken the internet
26:13multiple times.
26:14The future Pirate King's battle against Kaido of the Four Emperors has many stages,
26:20from the opening Roof Piece tag team, to their initial one-on-one, to the debut of
26:25Luffy's cartoonish Gear Fifth, and they're all absolutely stunning throughout.
26:41Moments like the skies splitting from their clash, Luffy going giant or catching lightning,
26:46and his final gigantic punch to take Kaido down are so exquisite that we have as much
26:52trouble keeping our eyes inside our heads as the characters do.
27:02The fight's visuals redefined what some of us thought possible for not only One Piece,
27:07but anime in general.
27:21Is there an anime fight with mind-blowing visuals that we forgot?
