00:03 - Hey guys, it's Ash here with WatchMojo
00:11 and these are the top 21 sided anime ass kickings.
00:15 (speaking in Japanese)
00:18 - For this list, we'll be looking at the coolest instances
00:23 where anime characters showed who's boss.
00:27 Hey Mojoholics, for a chance to win cash prizes,
00:30 play our live daily trivia challenges every day
00:33 at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Eastern,
00:35 only at watchmojo.com/play.
00:38 - Number 20, Mash versus Silver.
00:42 Mashel, magic and muscles.
00:45 All day long, Silver kept gloating
00:47 that no one could withstand 10 of his punches.
00:50 But when he finally puts his fists where his mouth is,
00:52 he discovers that being on the receiving end isn't as easy,
00:56 especially when the blows are coming from Mash.
00:59 (punching)
01:01 The first punch destroys Silver's face, pride,
01:08 and iron magic all at once.
01:10 After the second, he's already begging for mercy.
01:13 Lucky for him, a giant scorpion appears
01:16 before Mash can finish his eight other punches.
01:19 Either way, the damage is already done.
01:22 Odds are, Silver won't be betting
01:23 against Mash's fists ever again.
01:26 (speaking in foreign language)
01:30 Number 19, Cid versus Grease, the eminence in shadow.
01:38 There's always a lesson to be learned in defeat,
01:41 especially one like this.
01:43 Don't get us wrong, Cid still thrashes the cultists
01:45 like nobody's business,
01:47 but in a remarkable show of sportsmanship,
01:50 he gives their leader, Grease, a few points as first.
01:54 (speaking in foreign language)
01:58 Not that it does him any good.
02:00 Grease pops a few magically enhanced pills
02:02 and keeps charging forward with no strategy.
02:05 He can't even land a hit, let alone do any damage.
02:08 Once Cid realizes his student isn't taking to the lesson,
02:12 he wraps things up in suitably flashy fashion.
02:15 (speaking in foreign language)
02:22 Now just imagine how fast this could have ended
02:25 if Cid was actually fighting for real.
02:28 Number 18, Kuroki versus Rihito, Kengan Ashura.
02:32 Kuroki says it best himself.
02:35 If he really wanted to,
02:36 he could have finished this match four times over.
02:39 (speaking in foreign language)
02:43 Unfortunately, Rihito takes that as a challenge.
02:49 Credit where it's due,
02:50 he does land a nasty blow early on,
02:53 but that's the first and last time
02:54 he lays a hand on Kuroki.
02:56 His opponent immediately gets serious
02:59 and proceeds to block every other incoming attack.
03:02 Then when Kuroki finally counters,
03:04 Rihito learns why they call him the Devil Lance.
03:07 Spoiler, it's not because he's friendly.
03:10 (speaking in foreign language)
03:14 Despite Rihito's efforts,
03:19 he ends this match with a gaping hole in his chest.
03:22 Although, given who he was up against,
03:24 Rihito should just be glad it wasn't anything worse.
03:27 Number 17, Laxus versus Raventail, Fairy Tail.
03:32 Five on one usually isn't good odds,
03:34 but this is Laxus we're talking about.
03:37 Even with all of Raventail's cheating,
03:39 it only takes a few minutes
03:40 before the Thunder Mage himself
03:42 starts throwing out punches.
03:44 One for Wendy and Carla, one for Gray, and one for Lucy.
03:49 (speaking in foreign language)
03:53 Despite their clear numbers advantage,
03:58 Raventail just can't hold out
03:59 against the electrifying Rampage.
04:02 Don't worry, Laxus saves the very best for last.
04:05 And seeing the villainous Ivan grovel for his life
04:08 makes that final punch even sweeter.
04:11 (speaking in foreign language)
04:15 (dramatic music)
04:18 In the end, Laxus didn't just beat Raventail,
04:23 he got them banned from the entire Grand Magic Games.
04:27 Number 16, Denji and Power versus Kishibe, Chainsaw Man.
04:32 Kishibe is a simple man.
04:34 He likes booze, he likes women,
04:36 and he likes killing devils.
04:38 That last one is particularly important
04:41 since he's tasked with whipping Denji and Power into shape.
04:44 (speaking in foreign language)
04:48 He has a distinctly hands-on approach to teaching,
04:53 and by that, we mean he totally floors them
04:56 over and over again until they get the point.
04:59 It's not like Denji and Power are pushovers either,
05:03 but compared to Kishibe's experience,
05:05 even their best laid plans come across as child's play.
05:08 At least they know it'll all be worth it.
05:11 After all, if Denji and Power can retain
05:13 even a crumb of Kishibe's lessons,
05:15 they'll be back to slaying devils in no time.
05:18 (speaking in foreign language)
05:22 Number 15, David versus Adam Smasher, Cyberpunk Edgerunners.
05:32 It's hard to say what hurts worse,
05:34 David getting his face pounded in
05:37 or watching it all go down.
05:39 (speaking in foreign language)
05:43 Either way, the outcome is a fight
05:48 that's not for the faint of heart.
05:50 Even with his techno-cyber skeleton,
05:53 David can't so much as scratch Adam Smasher.
05:56 In fact, the only thing he can do
05:58 is sacrifice himself to try and buy the others some time.
06:01 But in doing so, he lets Adam smash
06:04 just about every part of his body.
06:06 On the bright side, David died knowing Lucy's safe,
06:10 but it came at the cost of a truly brutal death scene.
06:13 (laughing)
06:16 (speaking in foreign language)
06:21 Number 14, Baki versus Yanagi and Sakosuke.
06:25 Baki.
06:26 (speaking in foreign language)
06:34 Never underestimate a guy who's just lost his V-card,
06:38 especially when his name is Baki Hanma.
06:41 He probably could have won this fight anyway,
06:43 but with the newfound motivation of an active sex life,
06:46 Baki is positively raring to go.
06:49 At the very least,
06:50 you can't say he isn't a man of his word.
06:53 Baki did say he'd pummel them until they can't stand,
06:56 and that's exactly what he ends up doing.
06:58 (speaking in foreign language)
07:00 When the two try to fight back,
07:02 they end up inflicting more damage to each other than Baki.
07:06 After a beatdown like this,
07:07 these two inmates probably wish
07:09 they'd just stayed on death row.
07:12 Number 13, Ashlad versus Torfinn, Vinland Saga.
07:16 You can't say Torfinn doesn't have guts, that's for sure.
07:20 He's essentially devoted his whole life to beating Ashlad,
07:23 and no matter how many times he's beaten senseless,
07:26 he keeps coming back for another round.
07:29 This time is no different.
07:31 (speaking in foreign language)
07:35 Sure, on paper, Ashlad doesn't use his sword,
07:39 and Torfinn has a broken arm,
07:41 but none of that really matters.
07:43 The two have dueled so many times
07:45 that Ashlad knows all of Torfinn's moves inside and out.
07:49 As a result, the combat is really just a means
07:51 to Ashlad's inevitable victory.
07:54 Worst of all, their fight is so lopsided,
07:57 Ashlad doesn't even think Torfinn is worth killing.
08:00 (speaking in foreign language)
08:04 Number 12, Takamichi and Hakai versus Taiju,
08:09 Tokyo Revengers.
08:11 At a certain point, you just wanna tell Takamichi
08:13 to stay down and shut the hell up.
08:16 But in the name of taking over the Black Dragon,
08:19 he keeps on standing again and again.
08:22 If it didn't end so poorly for him,
08:24 it would almost be inspiring.
08:26 Although, in Takamichi's defense,
08:29 he learns a clean enough blow
08:30 to send the buffed-out Taiju to his knees.
08:34 (speaking in foreign language)
08:38 Unfortunately, that's the beginning
08:46 and the end of his success.
08:48 The rest of the fight consists of Takamichi
08:50 becoming very acquainted with Taiju's fists.
08:53 He fares a bit better when Hakai joins the fray,
08:57 but even then, it's a mercy
08:59 when they finally pass out for good.
09:01 (speaking in foreign language)
09:05 Number 11, Ayanokouji versus Ryoen, Classroom of the Elite.
09:13 After a season of boiling tension,
09:15 this final exam consisted of a no-holds-barred fist fight
09:18 to prove who's really elite around here.
09:21 And yet, despite all that pressure,
09:23 Ayanokouji looks positively bored throughout it all.
09:27 (speaking in foreign language)
09:31 To be fair, Ryoen's lackeys go down so fast,
09:34 it's generous to even call it a fight.
09:37 Their sadistic boss lasted longest,
09:39 but only because he kept trying
09:40 to get a rise out of his opponents.
09:42 But as it turns out,
09:44 Ryoen isn't even with Ayanokouji's rage,
09:47 or really any emotion at all.
09:49 (speaking in foreign language)
09:53 In the end, the only thing Ryoen earns
10:03 is the chilling realization
10:05 that he can, in fact, experience fear.
10:09 Number 10, Big Mom versus Brook, One Piece.
10:13 You'd think her size would make her an easy target,
10:16 especially for a suave sword user like Brook.
10:19 (speaking in foreign language)
10:23 Alas, this yonko is every bit as powerful
10:29 as rumors would have you believe,
10:31 evident from when she brought out
10:33 her sentient son in "Thundercloud"
10:35 to fry the poor skeleton.
10:37 (speaking in foreign language)
10:41 Shouldn't feel too bad for yourself there, Brook.
10:45 We all knew you were bone from the start,
10:47 but at least you didn't get mama mad.
10:50 (speaking in foreign language)
10:54 If you did, then you might have ended up
10:59 getting grounded into bone powder.
11:01 Number nine, Shimazaki versus Teru, Mob Psycho 102.
11:10 (speaking in foreign language)
11:16 Not to throw any shade at our boy,
11:19 but he got totally trounced here.
11:21 (speaking in foreign language)
11:25 Which is, well, rather surprising
11:29 since he's an expert of such high caliber
11:32 that he can copy and incorporate
11:34 the techniques of other psychics
11:35 into his arsenal just like that.
11:38 Unfortunately for him,
11:40 he picked a fight with Claw's strongest soldier.
11:43 (speaking in foreign language)
11:47 Despite his lack of vision,
11:52 Shimazaki's mastery of teleportation
11:55 and seemingly indestructible skin
11:57 made it easy for him to slice past Teru's defenses
12:01 and take him out with a single strike.
12:04 (speaking in foreign language)
12:11 Don't worry, buddy, at least you kept your hair this time.
12:14 Number eight, Subaru versus Julius,
12:20 ReZero, Starting Life in Another World.
12:24 (speaking in foreign language)
12:28 Nothing says standing up for the woman you love
12:32 like getting the ever-loving shite beaten out of you
12:35 in front of a huge audience.
12:37 Indeed, the eternal Jabba Subaru
12:39 demonstrated this perfectly
12:41 after accepting a challenge from the royal guard Julius
12:45 and instead of Emilia's honor,
12:47 all he managed to restore was his reputation
12:50 as a pitiful fighter.
12:52 (speaking in foreign language)
12:56 Even fighting dirty does little to help Subaru
13:03 as Julius delivers the ass-kicking of a lifetime,
13:06 demonstrating the massive difference in power
13:09 between a neat and a goddamn fantasy knight.
13:13 (speaking in foreign language)
13:16 Number seven, Accelerator versus Awaki,
13:19 A Certain Magical Index.
13:21 Even if he was crippled
13:23 and in the midst of an internal conflict
13:25 about what kind of person he truly wanted to be,
13:28 you'd have to be pretty stupid to think that Accelerator
13:31 wouldn't still make for a deadly opponent.
13:34 (speaking in foreign language)
13:38 Obviously, Awaki didn't get the memo
13:43 since she decided to lash out at the level five Esper
13:46 armed with nothing but her ability to teleport.
13:50 (explosions booming)
13:53 As expected, this doesn't get her very far.
14:03 Even on crutches, Accelerator managed
14:05 to make quick work of her with his psychic powers.
14:09 (speaking in foreign language)
14:13 Really, she's lucky he was in the middle
14:18 of a transition to good guy,
14:20 otherwise she would have likely been left
14:22 as a stain on the road.
14:24 (speaking in foreign language)
14:28 Number six, Hanzo versus Gon, Hunter x Hunter.
14:33 While nowadays we all know Gon as an absolute powerhouse,
14:37 strong enough to even take on the likes
14:39 of a Chimera ant elite such as Pitou,
14:42 it didn't always used to be like that.
14:44 (speaking in foreign language)
14:48 During the finale of the Hunter exams,
14:53 Gon faces off against master ninja Hanzo
14:56 whose attacks managed to leave Gon broken and bloodied.
15:01 However, it only got to this stage
15:03 because Gon refused to surrender.
15:05 (speaking in foreign language)
15:09 His determination eventually won out,
15:20 but it was only due to him willing
15:22 to take one hell of a beating.
15:25 (speaking in foreign language)
15:31 Number five, Glenn versus Jin Gannis,
15:34 Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor.
15:37 (speaking in foreign language)
15:43 We knew as soon as this scumbag mage put his hands on Sistine
15:47 he was going to get the schooling of his lifetime.
15:50 Most likely in the form of a beatdown
15:53 courtesy of the most unorthodox magical teacher of all time.
15:57 (speaking in foreign language)
16:00 (speaking in foreign language)
16:03 Despite their somewhat temperamental relationship,
16:06 Glenn doesn't hesitate to protect his precious white cat
16:09 when Gannis tries to have his wicked way with her.
16:13 Goes to show that not all problems can be solved with spells
16:16 sometimes good old fashioned fighting will do the trick.
16:20 Number four, Mustang versus Envy,
16:23 Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood.
16:26 (speaking in foreign language)
16:30 (speaking in foreign language)
16:32 With his sadistic sense of humor,
16:34 shape-shifting abilities and monstrous final form,
16:38 this homunculus had gotten rather used to killing
16:41 and manipulating his way through life.
16:43 (speaking in foreign language)
16:47 That is until he made the fatal mistake of revealing
16:52 that he was the one who killed Maze Hughes.
16:55 (explosion)
16:58 Understandably enraged by this,
17:01 Mustang proceeds to incinerate Envy piece by piece,
17:05 taking great lengths to make the process
17:07 as agonizing as possible until he's reduced
17:10 to his true ugly little self.
17:13 This wasn't so much a battle
17:15 as it was a flame-filled massacre.
17:17 (explosion)
17:25 Number three, Mirio versus Class 1-A, My Hero Academia.
17:30 Ever wanted to know the difference in strength
17:33 between the first and third years at UA High?
17:36 Well, here you are.
17:37 (explosion)
17:40 Despite taking on the League of Villains,
17:46 the Hero Killer and other superhero schools,
17:49 Deku and the rest find themselves totally outgunned
17:52 when faced against this superstar student.
17:56 (dramatic music)
17:59 Despite his lightheartedness,
18:09 Mirio proves to be a force of nature,
18:12 fully utilizing his quirk to the point
18:15 where not even the combined might
18:16 of the whole class can slow him down.
18:20 (speaking in foreign language)
18:25 What else is there to say?
18:27 No one can hope to match this guy when it comes to power.
18:31 (explosion)
18:34 Number two, Ishigo versus Aizen, Bleach.
18:39 Goes to show what you can accomplish
18:41 if you grow your hair out just a little.
18:44 After successfully learning the art
18:46 of the final Getsuga Tenshou,
18:48 the substitute Shunigami re-enters the battle
18:51 against the all-powerful Aizen.
18:53 And then proceeds to toss him around like he was Chad.
18:57 (dramatic music)
19:00 Even with all his strength, his Kido,
19:07 and even a last second transformation,
19:10 Aizen can't hold a candle to Ishigo,
19:13 who simply deflects everything he throws at him with ease.
19:16 (sword clashing)
19:21 As if that wasn't humiliating enough,
19:24 Ishigo ends things with a single do or die strike
19:27 that manages to reduce the once feared Shunigami
19:30 into nothing more than some dude with a mullet.
19:34 (explosion)

19:59 Number one, Karen versus Koyami Aragi, Nisei Monogatari.
20:04 (sword clashing)
20:07 Given his love for getting into all kinds
20:13 of smutty situations, including with his sisters,
20:17 we can't exactly say that Aragi didn't deserve
20:19 to get his vampiric backside kicked in.
20:22 Though, maybe not to this extent.
20:29 After Karen inexplicably gains incredible combat prowess,
20:32 a sibling dispute between the two soon turns violent,
20:36 with Karen managing to kick the ever-loving crap
20:39 out of her brother, to the point where she's sending him
20:42 flying through bridges and bus stops.
20:45 Good thing he's got that whole recovery thing going for him.
20:48 (sword clashing)
20:50 (explosion booms)
