00:00An ex-WWE faction set to invade AEW soon?
00:04The real reason for an AEW loss?
00:07Top AEW stars gone for a while?
00:10And more.
00:12I'm Oli Davis, and this is the WrestleTalk News.
00:20For some, Saturday's AEW All Out pay-per-view crossed a line of taste, running not just
00:25one but two attempted murder angles, as Jon Moxley put a plastic bag over Bryan Danielson's
00:30head, and Hangman Page drug-swerved Strickland and whacked a chair over his skull.
00:35But hold wrestling's attempted murder beer, because Mystery Wrestling X just had a match
00:40end via future death.
00:42Mystery Wrestling X, ran by AEW's Evil Uno, had a deathmatch on their most recent show
00:47between London Lightning and Cecil Nix, where one of them had to literally die for the other
00:52to win.
00:53And when Lightning was about to kill Cecil, his time-travelling future self burst through
00:58the curtain, who looked a lot like other wrestler RJ City, and told him not to commit murder
01:03because it'll create a tragic, dystopian future.
01:07Think that nightmare scene from Batman vs Superman.
01:09To stop it from happening, Future London then drank poison to kill himself, which meant
01:14Cecil won because a version of London Lightning had died.
01:21Which prompted this Looper-esque memorial graphic in memory of London Lightning from
01:252003 to 2029
 to 2016 to 2024.
01:44You can check out Mystery Wrestling X on the link in the video description below.
01:47It kind of makes all other wrestling booking feel mundanely normal, like the angle AEW
01:51did where they had a wrestler lose because of unresolved contract negotiations.
01:57According to a boo of WrestlePurists, Daniel Garcia was originally supposed to beat MJF
02:01clean at All Out.
02:02That's what I predicted going into the show, as Garcia was a returning, vengeful babyface
02:07that would've been really helped by a big win, and Max could use his kayfabe neck injury
02:12as an excuse.
02:13But then MJF won via low blow shenanigans.
02:16This was reportedly because Garcia's current contract expires in October, and he still
02:21hasn't signed a new deal.
02:22He was previously written off TV in July from an MJF beatdown angle in case he didn't
02:27re-sign, but was brought back at All In two weeks ago to cost Max his American Championship
02:32because he was expected to commit long term.
02:35In a good sign for him staying in AEW, though, Garcia is being advertised on the recently
02:39announced shows for October and November.
02:42Despite his loss, Garcia did get a lot of his heat back by giving Max a second rope
02:46pile driver, getting to indulge in his MJF neck breaking fetish.
02:51His words, not mine.
02:52But this wasn't just AEW hedging their bets, giving MJF the win but keeping Garcia looking
02:57strong if he decides to re-sign.
03:00WrestlePurists is also reporting that Max is leaving to film a movie, so he needed to
03:04be written off TV with an injury angle.
03:07The Wrestling Observer corroborated this, and added another big AEW name set to take
03:12time off.
03:13Swerve Strickland, who has been planned for a vacation since he signed his new contract,
03:17which happened at All In two weeks ago.
03:19Both were expected to be gone for a while, which opens up room at the top of the card
03:24for some new business.
03:27Following Bobby Lashley and MVP's WWE contracts expiring last month, WrestlePurists is reporting
03:33it is possible that their beloved Hurt Business faction will be reuniting in AEW soon.
03:39Since their contracts expired rather than them getting released by WWE, they aren't
03:44subject to any 90-day non-compete clauses, and can show up for any other wrestling promotion
03:49when they want.
03:51And speaking at the KNS WrestleFest, MVP teased just that, along with their other Hurt Business
03:56faction mate Shelton Benjamin, who WWE released late last year.
04:01The Hurt Business is dead, and it was killed off by the powers that be at WWE.
04:06But I can say this, myself, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, we're talking amongst
04:11ourselves about what we want to do going forward.
04:15I'll just say, stay tuned.
04:18Stay tuned.
04:19Me, Bobby and Shelton have been talking about what we want to do, and again, I'll say,
04:24stay tuned.
04:25MVP saying the Hurt Business is dead is most likely in name only.
04:29That's a WWE trademark, and the group is expected to be called the Hurt Syndicate when
04:34they next show up, a phrase MVP recently filed to trademark.
04:38Which will have all the wrestlers you remember.
04:41Bobbles, MVP, Benjamin.
04:45And that's it.
04:47There was nobody else in the Hurt Business.
04:50MVP noted in that same appearance that he believes the fourth Hurt Business member Cedric
04:54Alexander has now re-signed with WWE.
04:58Fightful Select then confirmed this, revealing a new deal was actually agreed months ago,
05:03and is for a multi-year contract.
05:05MVP is, by his own admission, a tad salty on how WWE treated the Hurt Business in the
05:10Paul Levesque era, because, he revealed, they were explicitly told they were going to be
05:15reunited onscreen.
05:17WWE even had merchandise made, with the Hurt Business logo on the front, and the phrase
05:22Back In Business on the back.
05:29But then

05:30Next thing I see, Bobby is with the Street Profits.
05:33What happened here?
05:34I get a call from Bruce Prichard, somebody should've called you.
05:37Sorry, we decided we're going in a different direction.
05:40What the f*** is that?
05:41That's not professional.
05:43Needless to say, I was very salty about that.
05:46We had Bobby going from a two-time WWE Champion to not being in the conversation or in the
05:51title picture at all.
05:53Got put with the Street Profits, who were white hot, and they got called off.
05:57The Street Profits went from being major figures to sitting in catering.
06:01I don't know why.
06:02I don't understand it, but I don't make decisions in that way.
06:06What do you think went wrong with Bobby Lashley and the Triple H?
06:08Let me know in the comments because I'll be replying to people FROM OUTTA SAYING HIS
06:12SISTERS.
06:13THAT'S THE FACTION EVERYONE WANTS, BOBBY LASHLEY AND HIS BEAUTIFUL SISTERS.
06:18T-shirt company AEW will surely be eyeing up those back in business merch slogans.
06:23But in the meantime, they've had a surprise success with one of their undercard acts.
06:28According to WrestleNomics estimates, 80s throwback act The Outrunners got their first
06:32ever win on AEW TV on last Friday's Collision, are currently 8th in the company's top 10
06:38merchandise sellers, outselling current AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson and former
06:44champions Swerve Strickland and Samoa Joe.
06:46Which is great, AEW building a new tag team act, that's great, there's nothing else
06:51to do with this story.
06:52Oh wait, just one more thing.
06:54The success might actually betray a failing and famed t-shirt company AEW.
06:59One frequent criticism over the years, which I experienced first hand at both All In shows
07:03in London, is that the promotion, for some reason, sells hardly any wrestler specific
07:08merchandise at their live events.
07:11The vast majority are AEW branded.
07:14So the Outrunners are outselling Danielson and Swerve might be indicative of a poor merchandise
07:18strategy as much as it is a success for the tag team.
07:22Speaking of supporting stuff you watch, we have a Patreon, don't you know?
07:32Over the last year, our YouTube revenue has fallen, and our costs have gone up.
07:36Not a fun combination.
07:37So we really need your support to keep making the shows you watch.
07:41the best WWE wrestlers to never win a world title.
08:04Please go to Patreon.com forward slash WrestleTalk to support WrestleTalk, with three quarters
08:09of the Hurt Business potentially on their way to AEW, what about an act that recently
08:13left AEW on their way to WWE?
08:18Both Matt and Jeff Hardy left AEW when their contracts expired earlier this year, and quickly
08:22returned to TNA, where Matt claims they have creative lined up there through the end of
08:27this year.
08:28But the Hardy Boys might be one of the most bounced around acts in modern wrestling, where,
08:33in his 30 year career, Jeff has gone from the WWF to Ring of Honor to TNA, back to WWE,
08:38back to TNA, back to Ring of Honor, back to WWE again, to AEW, and then back to TNA
08:45for a third time.
08:47So it's unsurprising that Matt has also revealed on his podcast with WWE, there's
08:51still been some ongoing conversation with WWE.
08:54So yeah, anything can happen in the extreme life of Matt Hardy.
08:59TNA currently has a working relationship with NXT, but the Hardy Boys are yet to have jumped
09:04through that prohibitive portal.
09:07Or maybe they could return to AEW SHOCKWAVE.
09:10AEW filed for a new trademark last Friday, AEW SHOCKWAVE, for wrestling show purposes,
09:18prompting speculation they will be launching yet another TV programme.
09:21When asked about this at the All Out Media Scrum, Tony Khan gave a typical non-answer.
09:26Somehow mostly spoke about how many tickets they sold for All Out.
09:29Interestingly though, the Wrestling Observer has mentioned that AEW aren't just in talks
09:33with WBD about a new deal for the likes of Dynamite and Collision, and that a new show
09:38called SHOCKWAVE could be on another network.
09:42This is very similar to how WWE have handled their TV rights, who have hedged their bets
09:46across multiple broadcast partners, from the traditional TV stations like the CW to the
09:51streaming giant Netflix.
09:53Before Raw moves to Netflix on January 6th, though, the platform will premiere its Mr
09:58McMahon docuseries on the 25th of September.
10:01The show, first announced back in 2020, has had to undergo multiple reshoots because of
10:06McMahon's multiple resignations amidst the accusations of sexual abuse.
10:10The biggest name of those is Janelle Grant, whose lawsuit filing back in January directly
10:15led to McMahon completely exiting the company.
10:18A spokesperson for Grant has now told Post Wrestling that the producers did reach out
10:22to arrange an interview with her for the show, but it didn't come to fruition.
10:26Post Wrestling write that their source says she was actually approached multiple times,
10:30and she ultimately decided not to participate, suggesting the McMahon series will be willing
10:35to cover his most controversial stories, despite the WWE partnership starting in a matter of
10:41months.
10:42Now please go check us out over at Patreon.com forward slash WrestleTalk, and watch my review
10:46of what might be the sickest pay-per-view ever.
