00:00More than 600 million pesos were lost in the agriculture sector due to the typhoon Enteng and Habagat.

00:09In front of it, the DA carried out various steps to increase the production and income during the rainy season.

00:21The Department of Agriculture opened the new Rice Processing System or RPS in Gimba, Nueva Ecija.

00:31It includes a miller or a rice mill.

00:35There are also three dryers that are important to ensure that the rice of the farmers will be dry during the rainy season.

00:42It is said that more than 200 farmers will benefit from the RPS.

00:48Approximately 6,000 sacks of rice were milled in this new rice mill.

00:58The mechanization aspect, if you have a processing facility, drying, and then of course milling,

01:07the value of your rice will really increase and our farmers will benefit.

01:13The Provincial Local Government Unit of Surigao del Norte also initiated the Sagip-Saka Programme for the Procurement Projects in the province.

01:22This is aimed at increasing the decent value of the rice of the farmers so that they can have a good income.

01:30They raised P6 million for the program.

01:35The Department of Agriculture has already prepared more than P200 million worth of rice for the farmers and fishermen affected by the typhoon Enteng and Habagat.

01:48These are the free rice, fertilizers, and other products for the farmers.

01:53According to the latest report, P656 million was raised by the Department of Agriculture affected by the typhoon in Cagayan, Central Luzon, Bicol, Western, and Eastern Visayas regions.
