After watching the game last night, does that make you feel like the Patriots are even further away from competing? Are you interested?

00:00This is Bob from Londonderry. Hello, Bob.
00:04Hey, guys. Good morning, and ladies, enjoy the show.
00:08I was just calling in because after watching, it just reminded me
00:12of how dire straits New England is.
00:15I feel so bad for these fans who spend their money to go watch the product
00:20that's going on the field this year.
00:23You're talking about watching last night's game?
00:25Oh, yeah. There's talent.
00:27Now, last night, I don't care if you like either of the teams, boy,
00:31it's a very, very, the talent level is second to none.
00:34I know they're the best in the league, but this is just this year.
00:38I got just solidified. This year, you better be prepared
00:41because I think it's going to be worse than anyone could even think
00:45and it's going to be very boring, even when they win.
00:48Yeah. Well, Wiggy said it earlier.
00:51You started the show, basically. You watched that game, or it was your lead,
00:56I guess. You watch that game and you realize how far away your
00:59New England Patriots are from being that, either of those teams last night.
01:03But the caller makes a great point.
01:04Like, even tonight, right? The Green Bay Eagles game.
01:08There's just so much, you know, like, I don't want to use the word drama
01:12because it's not, but there's just so many interesting things about the game.
01:16We get to see what Jordan Loves look like.
01:18How good can Green Bay be? Philadelphia, you start to just look.
01:22Yeah, Philadelphia, basically a playoff team that went in and head coaching-wise
01:28got rid of their entire coaching staff and we did everything.
01:32I, it's, you're right. It's just so, like, the outlook is just not great right now.
01:40And who asked the question yesterday? I can't remember who asked it.
01:42Like, are people going to be watching? Are they going to be interested?
01:46Yes, I am. No. What do you mean?
01:49Because there's nothing interesting about it.
01:51Week one, people are going to be interested. No matter, yes, they are, Wiggy.
01:55Look at the week one matchups, right? And, like, the interest level.
02:00We talked about last night's game. We talked about Green Bay, Philadelphia.
02:04When you look at the Stalers and Falcons, right?
02:07There's an interest level there. Oh, could the Falcons really be good?
02:10What's the Stalers quarterback situation going to look like?
02:13The Bills and Cardinals, same thing. You got Josh Allen.
02:17What's that going to look like? Kyle Murray and Marvin Harrison Jr.
02:21With the Patriots? There's none of that feeling.
02:24And Wiggy is so right. You know, I watched that game last night.
02:27And obviously, Patrick Mahomes is one of two people on the planet
02:31that's the best at what he's done.
02:34But what we had here for two decades was a feeling like you were never out of a game.
02:40We all think about Super Bowl 51.
02:42We think about the comebacks against the Ravens and the playoffs, all that.
02:45But there were Browns regular season games, Saints regular season games
02:49where they were down 10 points with two minutes left and they'd win.
02:51Now, if Joe Burrow takes the Bengals down the field, or Bongles, whatever the word is, on Sunday
02:58and the Patriots go down 14 to 3 in the second quarter,
03:01does anybody think they're going to come back and win it?
03:03No. There will be interest at the beginning of the game.
03:06There will not be interest at the end.
03:07Like, I know the answer to this question, but I'll ask it anyway.
03:10Would there be that excitement if Drake May were starting?
03:13Yes.
03:13Yes.
03:14Yeah.
03:14Right.
03:15Right.
03:15But that's why I said, I'm just looking at every game.
03:18Like, even the Bears-Titans, there's excitement to see like,
03:22okay, what's Caleb Williams look like?
03:24By the way, Bill Belichick, not a fan of Caleb Williams.
03:26No, no.
03:27But he was right, though.
03:28Like, they were gushing about how accurate he was and then Bill's like,
03:32you mean when he was 10 for 20?
03:34Right.
03:34I'm like, I'm just freaking shocked.
03:38I'm sure the Bears regret not hiring Bill.
03:40Captain optimism.
