00:00When I saw this clip, I immediately knew I had to follow his story and figure out where
00:16he went next.
00:38As a dodo producer, I've become very skilled at tracking animals down on the internet.
00:43So I managed to find the Instagram of the girl who was fostering this dog.
00:47And they lived in the same city as me.
00:53I got in touch with her and we ended up video chatting for two hours.
00:58And we had no idea really that internal trauma we were going to be working through.
01:12She knew she had to take him home with her and show him the good life or he might never
01:16get adopted.
01:19After our video chat, she started texting me updates of his progress every day.

01:27She texted me the first time he sat on her lap.
01:32She texted me the first time he got Foley on the couch, which was a huge day for all
01:37of us.
01:38This is Simba's first time ever being all the way on the couch.
01:41Are you a couch puppy?
01:45He was getting braver every day.
01:46Yeah.
01:47He's standing on me.
01:51We decided to go on an adventure together to make a video of Simba's progress.
01:55Do you want to go for a walk?
01:58Yeah.
01:59Have his do not pet harness, his do not pet bandana.
02:05I was on FaceTime as they got ready for the day.
02:08And then I was meeting them in person for the first time.
02:13Simba was even cuter in real life.

02:21We had the best time and throughout the day, I really realized we could be real friends.

02:34I became Simba's designated dog sitter when LB was away.
02:52He was doing so much better and really ready to be adopted.
02:56And then I thought, what better way to use the Dodo's amazing reach than to find Simba's
03:02When we posted the video, I couldn't believe how many people responded to it.
03:05And sure enough, it worked.
03:06We found the perfect home for him.
03:09LB of course FaceTimed me right after dropping him off.
03:13Okay, so I just handed Simba off to his hopeful new family and they're amazing.
03:22And he has a sister who looks exactly like him and it's just amazing to see people that
03:28are ready to love him the way that I love him.
03:33Simba's life was completely turned right side up after getting rescued, but LB and I's lives
03:37are also changed forever.
03:41He became best friends, got an apartment together.
03:48We started a few hobbies together.
03:53I just love that LB was helping Simba out of the kindness of her own heart.
04:00And it just goes to show that you never know the funny ways in which that kindness will
04:04come back to you.
