00:00Former Taipei Mayor Ke Wen-je has been released without bail after two days in custody on
00:06corruption charges.
00:07The party he founded, the Taiwan People's Party, and his supporters are cheering the
00:11court's decision that the evidence wasn't enough to hold him any longer.
00:16Our reporter Tiffany Wong joins us live from Taipei with the latest on the case.

00:28Well, it's been a really dramatic weekend for Ke Wen-je.
00:31He was released around 3 a.m. after two days of questioning on those corruption charges,
00:37and now he's come out with accusations of his own of abuse during that detention.
00:42Now Taipei prosecutors are planning on seeking an appeal to overturn his release, which means
00:49that he might be back in detention soon.
00:53Now Ke Wen-je is a central figure in the Taiwan People's Party, that's Taiwan's third party,
00:59and both him and his party have now been embroiled in scandal, this time concerning profiteering
01:05allegations during his time as Taipei City Mayor, putting both him and his party under
01:11public scrutiny.
