00:18Following her impressive debut in the 2023 FIBA Asia Cup,

00:22Vanessa De Jesus, a Filipino-American player, has yet to play for the Guilas Filipinas Women.

00:29In her first time wearing national colors,

00:32De Jesus scored an average of 12.8 points, 1.83 rebounds, and 3.2 assists

00:39to help the Guilas retain their spot in the Asia Cup Division A.

00:44De Jesus has yet to play in the 2023 Jones Cup and Hangzhou Asian Games.

00:50In bad luck, Duke University announced that a 22-year-old guard suffered a knee injury.

00:57More than a year has passed since De Jesus' recovery,

01:01and the next season of the NCAA is already underway.

01:05Guilas Filipinas Women's Head Coach Patrick Aquino is hoping to play in the Cuponan again.

01:13Unfortunately, the school didn't permit her to join us here

01:20because of the length or the period of time for the recovery that was not yet done.

01:27So she told me that when she's done and she's free to come here, she'll be joining us.

01:36Guilas Filipinas Women will return to action in the World Cup Pre-Qualifying Tournament

01:41of the 2025 FIBA Women's Asia Cup in China,

01:44and the 2025 Southeast Asian Games in Thailand.
