00:00Newcastle United 2, Tottenham Hotspur 1 here at St James' Park this afternoon and that is a massive win for so many different reasons.
00:10The first one being the fact that Newcastle, for the third Premier League game in a row, didn't play very well but found a way to win and that is encouraging.
00:22And of course, the second point as well, there was a lot of frustration and disappointment on Friday night when that transfer window closed.
00:29No major signings, even today, Lloyd Kelly was the only summer signing in the Start XI.
00:35You've got the two goalkeepers in John Ruddy and Odyssey Flakedemos who aren't even in the squad.
00:41And Willa Sula, the back-up striker too, Alexander Izza currently and then Callum Wilson, he's fit, he hasn't made his debut yet.
00:48As I say, Newcastle failed to improve their Start XI but what they have currently is a strong Start XI in terms of the current players that they've still got.
00:59And if they can stay fit, then they've shown that they've got enough quality to get through to January in a good position and then maybe in January get that big signing which I still think Newcastle need because, as I say, you need to evolve.
01:15Newcastle haven't done that in the transfer window but today it sort of silences the noise a little bit.
01:21Can you imagine if Newcastle had a loss and you're looking back at that transfer window, looking at what they didn't do.
01:28The transfer window is still a disappointment but it just shows now that what's done is done.
01:34Newcastle can only react on the pitch anyhow, can only react with what he's got.
01:38If the squad stay together, the current players will hopefully get them through to January and they'll be in a good position.
01:48As I say, I'm not going to sit here and really analyse the game. It wasn't really a great performance by Newcastle but they found a way to win.
01:56It was Alexander Isak's winner, 15 minutes all. GM was very much against the run of play but no-one really cares.
02:03As I say, it was a really massive victory. Unbeaten heading into the international break now and next round of the Cardinal Cup as well.
02:10Full of noise, disappointment. It's been a good start to the season and hopefully we can continue that after the international break.
