00:00Israelis woke up to some devastating news. These six hostages held captive by
00:05Hamas since October 7th were found dead by the Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip.
00:10Prime Minister Netanyahu responded vowing to eliminate Hamas.
00:14Whoever murders hostages does not want a deal. On our side we will not give up.
00:20The government of Israel is committed and I'm committed to reaching a deal to
00:25have our hostages released. A deal that will guarantee our security and our
00:30existence. Among the victims was Hirsch Goldberg Polin, a 23 year old
00:37Israeli-American whose parents have led a high-profile campaign for his release
00:42addressing the United Nations, speaking at the Democratic National Convention
00:47and meeting with President Joe Biden. In a statement the US president expressed
00:52his sadness at the news. I have worked tirelessly to bring their beloved Hirsch
00:57safely to them and I'm heartbroken by the news of his death. It is as tragic as
01:02it is reprehensible. Make no mistake, Hamas leaders will pay for these crimes.
01:08The militant group responded saying Israel is to blame for the death of the
01:13hostages as it is unwilling to reach a ceasefire deal. The announcement was made
01:18hours after thousands of Israelis marched through Tel Aviv to demand the
01:23return of the remaining hostages from Gaza. The forum of hostage families has
01:27now called for a mass protest Sunday with the aim of bringing the country to
01:31a halt to push for a ceasefire. Now a vaccination campaign to inoculate
01:39children against polio is underway in Gaza. A series of three-day humanitarian
01:45pauses in the fighting agreed by Israel and Hamas begins this Sunday to allow
01:49for the rollout. Hundreds of thousands of children under the age of 10 will be
01:54given two rounds of doses starting in central Gaza then moving to other parts
01:59of the enclave. I cannot call this a truce. It's not sufficient. They only
02:07provide us with time from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. which is not enough. We need to
02:12continue working beyond these hours. We need 400,000 additional doses to
02:17complete the entire campaign. We received 1.2 million doses therefore we need the
02:24doses which UNICEF is expected to purchase and deliver them to the Gaza
02:27Strip.
