00:09As announced by the President of Johor, Dato' Nafis Ghazi,
00:14Zoo Johor will be open from 31st August 2024.
00:19Starting from 9am to 6pm.
00:24The opening was supposed to be at 9am,
00:28but the crowd waited until 7.30am to line up.
00:34So, we started the opening from 9am to 8.30am.
00:39Now, it's 10am.
00:4210am, 2.30am, and there are already 3,500 people.
00:50As you can see, the line-up is long.
00:53So, I'm sorry if the line-up is long.
00:58But, we'll try our best to solve this problem.
01:04The capacity of the zoo can only accommodate 2,000 to 5,000 people.
01:11But, there are already 3,500 people in the zoo.
01:17I expect that the crowd will be up to 10,000 people today.
01:25The zoo will be closed in two hours.
01:29I want to tell you that this zoo is not like other zoos.
01:33It's not like the national zoo or the Malay zoo.
01:37This zoo is the oldest zoo in Malaysia.
01:40It was built in 1928.
01:44Most of the animals in this zoo are from the royal family.
01:54In 1962, the zoo was handed over to the government.
02:01That's when the zoo was opened to the public.
02:04So, this is the first time we've made an adjustment
02:09to increase the capacity of the zoo after 94 years.
02:13The budget is about RM9 million.
02:18This is the second phase.
