00:00A new 3x3 tournament and training camp was launched by the half-court group

00:05led by decorated 3x3 basketball coach Mau Belen.

00:14A new 3x3 tournament and training camp was formally launched by the half-court group of Tungwebes in Ocada, Manila in the Philippines.

00:23Behind this project is one of the famous 3x3 coaches of the country, Mau Belen,

00:30along with his former players from TNT Triple Giga, Chester Saldua, Matthew Salem, and Samboy Deleon.

00:39In Belen's speech, he said their target is to open a new door for basketball players,

00:46aside from the professional leagues.

00:53If that's not coming true, like all our dreams, not all of them will come true.

01:03I hope they can see the half-court as a tool for them to reach their dreams.

01:10The half-court group aims to expand the 3x3 basketball in the country, especially the Olympic sport.

01:18This is what Belen promised that the Philippines can trust to join the FIBA 3x3 tournaments.

01:26We hope we can help the federation.

01:30That's one of our key missions, even if it's not fully vetted or fully acknowledged.

01:38But with the application of this tournament to the light quest,

01:44surely this will add points to the country.

01:49And hopefully we can do it year in, year out, leading to the LA Olympics and more Olympics.

01:58The half-court 3x3 tournament will be held in the next three weekends this September,

02:04where 36 players from the men's and women's teams will compete.

02:08The men's team will be able to enter the FIBA 3x3 Pochon Challengers in October,

02:14while the women's team will receive P20,000.

02:20Aside from the tournament, the half-court group will also open a training camp for 7 to 18-year-olds.
