00:00The Court of Appeal has dismissed a lawyer and her husband's application for a review
00:06of their conviction for using a forged document to secure the transfer of property 11 years
00:12ago.
00:13Khi Praminder Kaur and her husband, T Bir Singh, a former pilot, had sought the review,
00:19claiming the charges framed against them were defective.
00:23Last December, the Appeals Court agreed to hear the review premised on a single question
00:28of law, namely whether the punishment for an offence under Section 471 of the Penal
00:33Code is prescribed in Section 465 rather than Section 467.
00:39Delivering the court's unanimous decision, Justice Chou Ka Singh said that the charges
00:44had been properly framed and were not defective, wrong in law or illegal.
00:49Praminder was convicted for using a forged document to transfer a piece of property worth
00:55RM550,000 located in Bukit Pramata in Gombak, Selangor.
