Man on mobility scooter stabbed to death with machete in Hackney as two men arrested

00:00A disabled dad of one was stabbed to death yesterday with a machete just after 3.30pm.
00:11Wheelchair user Jade Anthony Barnett, 38, was apparently stuck in his mobility scooter
00:15here in Clacton, East London. Jade's mum, Joyce Barnett, has told the press he was loved
00:21by everyone around here. She said, how could anyone attack him in a wheelchair? I don't
00:25know, we just want answers. The police have since arrested two men, aged 21 and 28, on
00:31suspicion of murder. Today, there are over 10 uniformed police officers surrounding the
00:36cordoned off area in Overbury Lane, with a police tent and blue plastic glove scattered
00:41around the floor. The Met Police said officers were called at 3.38pm to reports of a fight
00:46in Rushmore Road, Clacton, and found a man with a stab injury. He was treated by London
00:52Ambulance Service paramedics, but was pronounced dead at the scene. His sister, Simone Barnett,
00:5845, from Hackney, said that her brother was jolly, cheerful, caring, and he never took
01:03anything too seriously. Jade used to live in Clacton with his mother, but his friends
01:08said he had moved to the Stratford area. They also said he lost his leg in a motorcycle
01:13accident in 2007. Two men, aged 28 and 21, have been arrested and remain in custody at
01:20an East London police station. A black and grey electric wheelchair could be seen standing
01:25behind the cordon, close to the forensics tent at the scene.
