00:00Want to take some stunning Rome pics? No problem.
00:04The city offers an abundance of Instagrammable spots.
00:08Is Rome an Instagram hotspot?
00:12It's time for a reality check.
00:15Central Rome offers plenty of places where you can snap pics of yourself
00:19or loved ones against the backdrop of iconic sites.
00:23Many of them world-class tourist attractions.
00:27Trevi Fountain is probably Rome's most recognizable site.
00:31It's an unmissable Instagram spot.
00:39There's hardly a tourist who'd want to miss out on seeing the Trevi Fountain.
00:43And even if you can make it look like you had this place all to yourself,
00:47in reality you'll be visiting with lots of other tourists.
00:51No matter the time of day or night,
00:54some 1,200 visitors flock here every hour, according to official sources.
01:02Then there's the popular coin-tossing tradition.
01:06According to legend, anyone who does so will return to the Eternal City.
01:14It's cool to have a selfie near the Trevi Fountain.
01:17It's a beautiful place, it's great for Instagram, but Rome is not just this.
01:21Rome is not just these busy piazzas, it's not just these busy streets.
01:27In short, we think Trevi Fountain is worth visiting, just to take a quick picture.
01:34And on to Instagram spot number two, Trastevere.
01:42The Trastevere neighborhood is next to Rome's historic city center.
01:47Once a working-class area, Trastevere has changed over the past three decades.
01:52It's now a nightlife district popular with locals and, above all, tourists.
02:05But Trastevere still remains a great place to explore and experience some Italian traditions.
02:11After about the 90s, 80s, 90s, Trastevere became a place for singles, for artists, for young people.
02:22Now it's changed a lot and become a lot of B&B, it's become a very touristic place.
02:33We think Trastevere is worth visiting, even though it's full of tourists.
02:38There's still plenty to discover.
02:45And now on to Rome's Instagram spot number three, the Spanish Steps.
02:50It's a popular tourist spot, especially at night.
03:00The Spanish Steps lead up to the Trinità dei Monti church.
03:04They were built between 1723 and 1726.
03:08These steps are famous with tourists from all over the world.
03:12It's quite impressive, it's quite monumental.
03:17I think it looks good by day, but come on, the lighting, everything, you can see the church in the top.
03:24It's just beautiful, I mean, come on, look at that.
03:28In 2019, the city introduced new rules.
03:32It's now forbidden to sit on the steps and this rule is strictly enforced.
03:42I think it's good. It was too crowded.
03:46You cannot walk above and downstairs, so I think it's good.
03:51Maybe this is a good rule, I think.
03:54So, what's our summary?
03:56The Spanish Steps are a fabulous Instagram spot, if whistling police officers don't bother you.
04:05Trastevere is a great place for longer stays and visits.
04:08Trastevere is a great place for longer stays and there's lots to discover, including some great cocktail bars.
04:18And if you appreciate architectural beauty and don't mind crowds, Trevi Fountain is a must-see.
