A special audit report on the recent technical issues affecting Malaysia Airlines will be presented to the Cabinet on Wednesday (Aug 28), according to Transport Minister Anthony Loke.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday (Aug 26), Loke stated that the audit, conducted by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) into Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), began even before the recent problems faced by the national carrier.

He also addressed public concerns, noting that the technical issues experienced by Malaysia Airlines are not unique and have affected other carriers globally as well.

00:00Yes, we have reached out to MH. In fact, before these three incidents, we already launched
00:10an investigation. Because there were some other incidents before this. And CAM has already
00:15done a special audit on MAG. And I will report to Cabinet some of the findings of the audit

00:32serious concern about what's happening in MAG. I'm also in touch with the Group Managing

01:02of the parts supply chain. Supply of the parts were disrupted. And the personnel changeover,
01:12lack of staff and all that, that has affected some maintenance work. So that's why they
01:18have taken immediate steps by cutting down some flags. So to ensure that flags are lesser,
01:27so that the aircraft can be sent for maintenance and all that. So immediate steps have been
01:32taken to cut down some flags.
01:35The former Transport Minister claims that there is a confidence crisis involving the
01:43few incidents that happened to MAS especially. Do you think that there is a confidence crisis
01:50against our MAHB?
01:52Well, it's unfortunate for a former Minister of Transport to mention that. That is actually
01:58questioning the professionalism of MAG and MAS. For me, as far as I'm concerned, I have
02:05no doubt on the professionalism of MAG for even one minute. I've always believed in their
02:11professionalism. They will do everything possible to ensure safety and security. Safety is always
02:18a top priority. But of course, to the public, there are concerns. I mean, I'm not downplaying
02:23the concerns. That's why CAM has actually taken immediate investigation, even before
