00:39In 2018, Tengganu made it a requirement for state athletes to wear sharia-compliant clothing.
00:46Four years later, it banned women from taking part in gymnastic events because of non-sharia-compliant
00:52outfits.
00:54This forced several Muslim female gymnasts from the state to retire from the sport altogether.
