Jets Dominate Practice: Insights and Fan Reactions

00:00This is Wednesday afternoon. And first of all, the weather was glorious. I mean, you
00:07know, out east here, we usually in 80s or 90s, actually in the low to mid 60s, which
00:12was shocking, you know, in the afternoon. But I could tell you this, the Jets absolutely
00:16dominated that practice and going to many joint practices for the last two decades.
00:21I try not to overrate them. And so, and by the way, they didn't do two, they only did
00:24one. They did it three days before their preseason game on Saturday. But the Jets, I get it.
00:29It was in Florham Park, their headquarters. And there were Giant fans in there, by the
00:34way, they were, they opened it up to the fans and the stands were packed. But the Jets have
00:40a very good roster. Yes, Aaron Rodgers, he's healthy. Let's start with them. We'll get
00:44to the Giants. Rodgers, I'm told, has had no problems with mobility, had an excellent
00:50camp. And now I'm not going to say they have a great offensive line. Let me be clear here.
00:55But they have depth and they've addressed it. Joe Douglas did an excellent job addressing
01:00their offensive line. I thought last year, they kind of missed the mark a little bit,
01:04but he's done a good job this year. They actually have depth. They can go eight or nine deep.
01:08Garrett Wilson is going to be a breakout player taken to another level at receiver. He was
01:11very good last year despite all the problems they had at quarterback. And I could tell
01:14you, Mike, they finally have a backup quarterback. It was an absolute disaster last season. Why
01:19did he not bring back Joe Flacco? I'll never understand. It was a major mistake, but they're
01:24very happy with Tyrod Taylor. See, a backup quarterback, listen, if you want Tyrod Taylor
01:29to start 10 games, that's a problem. But if Rodgers had to miss two or three games, he
01:34could hold down the four. He could still spin it. He had Garrett Wilson on Wednesday on
01:39the nine route. I believe he beat McLeod number 44 in the corner. I mean, he beat him down
01:45field. It was a great throw and a great catch. They're loaded, man. They don't really have
01:49a glaring weakness. I think backup depth, we're talking about outside corner, safety,
01:55they're kind of average. They're excellent in the front seven, but they don't have a
01:58son Redick, Mike. That's a problem. And I was told that he made it clear to the team
02:02in the off season, he'd be there for training camp. And as you know, he's not there getting
02:07fined. They need him, Mike. Their pass rush group is good. It's not great. If you put
02:12Redick in that pass rush group, it's taken to another level. That's a concern, but they're
02:16a very good team, Mike. Look at the odds makers, 10 and a half wins. Mike, they're
02:23minus 145 to 160. It's because they're going to, Mike, they're going over 10 and a half.
02:29They're going to get 11 or 12 wins here. I know that I might be in the minority with
02:33some people like you, but I like the over there.
